Well this pool hall wasnt the prettiest or cleanest, safest, but what it was ,was an action house for many years,it was called BILL AND BILLIES on the outskirts of baltimore, every top player and road players had this place on their map and they all were there,at some time or another,PARICA,EFREN.HALL,SHANNON DALTON,BUGS,VANOVER,LEGGS,VARNER,HOPKINS,STRICKLAND,GEESE ,everyone believe me,this place had the best after hours action at one time of anywhere in the world,oh yes LOCK my favorite place!

California Billiard Club, Mountain View, California.

It has the best layout I've ever seen! Lots of room between the tables and very good spectator seating. You almost never feel crowded there whether you are playing or watching. They have great tables too!

I have not been too a whole lot but I would have to say JOB Billiards Club in Nashville.

Hard Times Sacramento.

I have to mention The Jointed Cue as well though. So much history in that room.

Country Club Billiards in Chelmsford, MA. was my favorite place to go when it was around.

Snookers

Snookers in Providence RI by far the best
Bo's Billiards Warwick Ri ok
Legends in Portsmouth NH is very nice also

I hate uppity pool halls. I like dives where people go for one reason and that's to shoot pool. Not order meals, not listen to DJ's or watch bands, not watch a 100 different games on a hundred different TVs. Give me a trashy hall w/good tables, morgue lighting, vending machines and a bathroom you can catch a venereal disease just by looking at it and I'm in heaven! :groucho:

I'm actually mostly serious. A clean bathroom would be nice.

How about a non-smoking club? Q-Ball Billiards in Jacksonville. Only been there once, but very clean and nice assortment of 8 foot; 9 foot, and one snooker table if I recall. Staff was friendly; tables were in nice shape.

I agree that Hard Times is an awesome pool hall too. The Jointed Cue is an old school pool hall that does have a great history! It's worth going just to look at all the old pics of players and other memorabilia!

Diamond Billiards, Midlothian VA

You can't run a place better than they do. Check their Ustream ... I also used to like Shooters in Olathe, for the action..and sweating 1P next to my own personal commentator Bill Staton, watching Grady vs. Joyner on the back table.

Best pool hall ever

Although I am prejudiced,

The best room I ever was in - and it was the best from 1988 to 2004 - was the original Anchorage Billiard Palace.

All antique tables - good action - very clean bathrooms and friendly staff.

And it was that way for 16 years!!

211 Club

I'd vote for the 211 club when it was still at 211 Union. Great place to play, a real pool hall no bs allowed. I remember that if you played with one of the house cues and liked it they would offer to put it away for you so you could use it next time you came in.

Well you would be prejudiced Mark, it was your room! But I totally agree it was the coolest and classiest place I have ever had the pleasure of playing in. Don Lundy [the truck driver]
