Perfect Aim....Free Phone lessons..........

Coming from a Skeptic

I was skeptical at first, so I decided to call. I mean I don't think that he gave me the secret to pool, but what he did was put the way I see the shot in perspective for me to understand. He told me "Why" I miss the ball, and a finite way to correct it. I don't know about you but I consider that years of trail and error drastically cut short. Coming from the lesson, I'm not a world champion, but I consider the hour I talked with him to be a giant leap in the right direction.

Thanks for taking your time to help me. I'm glad I called. I hope you find your lost Gas lol.

Hi there Shyne29,

As usual it was a pleasure to work with a player like yourself that has so much passion for the game. I only wish I was there after the lesson to hit some around with you.

The biggest complaint I get is from the older AZer's like myself. And I know their just trying to be funny when they say: Where were you 25 or 30 years ago.

But there is some truth to it. I know they are really thinking , Where would I have been today with my game had I known this or how many more matches or tournys would I have won.

Like you said it puts you way ahead of the curve. Once this aiming thing is addressed you can take it as far as you want.

Bottom line though , it sure is nice to actually see what your doing.

Blind man once said; I can't see what I'm missing.

Thanks again and Good Luck with your game. Geno.............

I just got off the phone with Geno. I would like to thank you for the "Eye Opener"!
I have some things to work on, but at least now I understand what's happening on some of my misses. I always knew that my eyes would lie to me at times.
Maybe my confidence will start to come back to the point that with some more work, I will get some of my game back?
Thank you again Geno!

Hi Geno- Hope you are doing well. I am finally heading back to MN are you in town at all? I would love to hook up for some dinner and pool. Would definately love to go over the Perfect Aim again. Let me know your status. Take care my friend.

I had fun.......

That's what this pool game is all about. having fun. I'm not playing much myself right now. spending alot of time working.

Today was kind of a rough day at work but when I get a call and get to teach this to another person that is just as nutz about this game as I am, I'm immediately in 7th heaven.

Frank, you were just what the doctor ordered tonight.

Like I said, us pool players are all kind of self taught. we see something and then try to put it into our game. Once you get used to applying this to your game your going to have alot of fun. It's just more fun to have the sights right on the gun. Once you see this and understand it, it's real easy to put it into your own game and make it your own.

Thanks Frank, you perked up my day. have fun with your new toy.

Thanks Geno..........

Need to share your story Mr Jeff..............

Gene and I have a face to face setup for 8 on Wednesday. Looking forward to it Geno and welcome to Chicago!

Hi there Jeff,
I need to tell your story because it really shows some strong determination.
A while back I got a call for the Perfect aim phone lesson. This doesn't happen very often anymore but somehow jeff and myself failed to get the dominant eye right. We thought he was right eye dominant.

Needless to say it was of almost no help at all for his aiming. But seeing all the great testimonials and how I preach ( I just can't help it and players that learned this know why) how well this works for everyone jeff just wouldn't give up.

He was one of these guys that passes every eye dominance test that says he is right eye dominant , only to get down on the pool shot and finally find out absolutely that he is left eye dominant.

Our own Spidey on AZ is also one of these players. He also found out when he came to Minneapolis for his job and got together with me one night..

Jeff drove to Chicago for a personal lesson. Once we started getting things in the right position the shots were falling and the vision of each shot was oviously so much better. And then there was that great big smile when he could see the shot better than before.

Again I have to hand it to you jeff for pursuing the answer to your struggles with aiming.

About 20% of the players that are right handed pass the pointing and looking through holes eye dominant test being right eye dominant when in all reality they are actually left eye dominant. the same is for left handed players the same way.

I really don't know why this is but when the player understands this there are many things that I teach that will enormously help the players ability to aim.

Stance, stroke and body alignment can be so much easier to master once this is positively identified.

I want to say thank you Jeff for giving me the opportunity to help you figure this out. You can now take your game to a new level very quickly and if you work hard at the game you will now be rewarded for your efforts.

Good luck my friend. thanks again Geno..........

Yeah, I had the same issue as Jeff.

Gene and I spent approx. 2 hrs on the phone a month or so ago.

Its not easy telling a player that he is left eye dominent when for years I have been using my right eye and the finger pointing at a distant object confirms this.

When I am behind the cue ball and my chin is in line with a straight in shot and my vision is centered if I close my right eye the shot looks straight in as my left eye sees it. If I close my left eye, the shot, as my right eye sees it, is not in line, in fact it looks like the cue ball will just miss the object ball to the left.

Thanks to Gene for setting me in the right direction.

Gene, if your ever in the St. Louis area let me know. I owe you lunch. :D

Hi there John,

Hope your shooting better than ever.

I think the reason this happens is the right eye is on the right side of the body. We shoot a gun right handed so we use the right eye. There are so many things that we do where we isolate the right eye that we kind of train the right eye to work in this manner. But when it comes to a pool shot and aiming you have to have the dominant eye in the right spot or it looks real wrong. Some of the shots when you are cutting a ball to the way of your non dominant eye, you can't really tell if you have the eyes right.

this is when you need to force your dominant eye to stay in the dominant position or the non dominant eye just takes over a little bit and ruins the aim. it still looks like it will go but it won't.

Anyway John, I'm glad you got it figured out and thanks again.

I'm working alot right now but I'm still giving some personal lessons here in Chicago.

As far as the Free Phone lessons, I'm stil doing them but only after 8:00 PM central time.

So keep the calls coming and I'll try to help everyone I can.

Thanks for sharing Geno. Sorry it's taken so long but I wanted to work on what we've worked on before I posted.

I can honestly say that Geno is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. You can really see his passion for the game.

It's really odd when you assume you were right eye dominant your whole life only to find out otherwise. Geno, I hope you didn't take my frustration as being tired, it's just that I'm not used to having that kind of intensity playing for that period of time. It's always slightly frusturating learning something new but you could tell once I was doing it right it was really enjoyable. I've never played pool with that level of focus for that period of time. It was really fun. Anyways, after the lesson I ask him if he wants to play a couple of racks. Just in case you all were wondering if Geno call only talk the talk, well, you'd be mistaken. The man can play!

The next thing I look down at my phone and it's 12:15a.m. We'd been practicing and playing for over 5 hours without ever looking at a watch and it seemed like it flew by. I can't thank you enough Geno.

I hesitate to type this but it needs to be said for Geno's character. Long story short there was a miscommunication on the $ and I was $80 short. There was no ATM at the pool room and the quicke mart next door was already closed. Needless to say I felt like a real heel. I offered to to go find a gas station nearby and he said "no, don't bother. Just go onto my website and paypal me later." So, for any of you who think this guy is just out to make a quick buck I don't know what more proof you need.

It's still alot of hard work but at least I know how to get lined up right and what to do when things go wrong, and guess what? Everytime I start missing a couple of shots, I force myself to slow down, line myself up as far to the right and then the world is right again. Old habbits die hard but when I really focus good things happen. Just yesterday I'm shooting league 8 ball and I'm on the 8 but kinda bad position. I'm about 3 inches from the ball and about an 80 degree cut. I used that tip reflection trick you taught me and split the cup. That is a neat little trick and worth a few bucks itself

Thanks for everything Gene. I hope to play you again sometime just for kicks if you ever get some free time. I know work is keeping you pretty busy. Btw, you think that kid at the front table with the pierceings is ready for a game? I know I am:D

Hi there Jeff,

Ain't that somethin. A guy can play that long and not know which eye is the dominant eye.

But the real truth of the matter is, it really doesn't matter if you know it or don't if you don't know all the secrets that allow you to keep it in that most Perfect domiant position.

Glad to help you join the elite group of players that know and understand how this works.

It sure is alot more fun to be able to see the shot, feel like it will go and then fire and it does go.

I admire your determination and desire to seek out the answers. Good thing you were kind of close but I have the feeling that you would have traveled alot further if necessary.

You have the same passion for the game as most of us and it sure was evident that night.

And yes it would be fun if you get up this way to give me a call. Hit a few balls and might even give you a little tuneup on your Perfect Aiming.
No charge this time.

It's always fun to see how much better players are playing after learning this except when I play them in a tourny. Players think I'm kidding but now you know I'm not.

Bottom line I know your playing better and having fun too. that's what it's all about.

Thaks again Geno..............

Since this is Gene's thread, I will post some additional kudos here. As most of you know, I have been an advocate of Perfect Aim and Gene Albrecht since day one.

When Gene first came on board, a couple of the posters didn't like Gene's style of selling the dream and that's fair enough. Sometimes, the style of selling the dream, is a little much for some people and I understand that. We all have our crosses to bear.

But a very small but vocal group of haters thought his PERFECT AIM business was pure SNAKE OIL and they attempted to besmirch Gene's good name. It's very nice to see that their hating didn't send Gene packing. The forum would have lost another GREAT CONTRIBUTOR.

A lot of people wouldn't be as happy with their pool game if it wasn't for Gene. And thank God the RV didn't crush Gene to death. :D

But my reason for writing this is to compliment what others have said about Gene. I've been playing in a lot of pool tournaments recently and I have been having a lot of fun. Because I know Gene has run successful gauntlets of tournament play I have often called him on the telephone to ask his advice on certain situations and he has been kind, patient and generous with his advice. This forum is lucky to have people like Gene posting in it.

Those who call him are even luckier. Those who have taken a personal pool lesson from Gene are just plain smart. If you take a pool lesson from Gene and you don't come away liking pool more than ever, something is wrong with you. It's not just Gene's knowledge of the game. (He knows it better than most). It's not just Gene's abilty to play at a very high level (many pros have felt his fire). It's not just Gene's enthusiasm for the game (I haven't met many people who share that enthusiasm like Gene does). Gene's total package is what I really like. It's not just his generous way of dealing with students. (He's patient with his time and the needs of his students). He's a complete credit to the game.

Thank you Gene for all you do for pool.

Getting there my friend.......

Hi Geno- Hope you are doing well. I am finally heading back to MN are you in town at all? I would love to hook up for some dinner and pool. Would definately love to go over the Perfect Aim again. Let me know your status. Take care my friend.

Hi there Chris,

It was fun last time and it would have been a blast again. Sorry though I'm in Chicago. Their keeping me pretty busy right now.
You can always call me for the Free Phone lesson. Looking forward to your call.

Thanks for asking. Good luck geno...........

Gene - Thanks for the phone lesson. My ball pocketing percentage has already improved. I'll work on the the concepts that you've taught me over the next few weeks and give you some feedback.

Hi there again,

Feel free to call again if you have any questions at all. Sometimes it's easy to forget something. And there are a whole bunch of somethings with Perfect Aim to remember.

And this goes for everyone. Call for a little tuneup. There are about 5 things that are very important to remember. Missing one part can make it not work very well.

Talk to you soon geno........

Still doin the free phone lessons but I took a break from work and everything else last night and headed down to the Pyramid Club in Addison, a suburb of Chicago and I finally met our own RJ from AZ billiards.

Had a great time. Like most of us his passion for the game is unsurpassed by noone. I had great fun showing him Perfect Aim bit by bit. And like I tell everyone, RJ had never seen this ever before. I can't wait to see when he fully incorperates this into his game.

Like many of us JR is opposite eye dominant. And like about 25% of players that are opposite eyed, JR passed all the eye dominant tests saying he was right eye dominant but found out he is absolutely left eye dominant when he is down aiming a pool shot.

Why is this? I really don't know. But I do know this, that unless a player knows for sure which eye is dominant when down on the shot, it is impossible to tweak the aiming to that players top ability.

I can't wait until next week to get an update on RJ's progress.

We banged some balls around for an hour or so. Had a great time. RJ can play too.

What a great league and poolroom. The pyramid club.

Thanks RJ Had agreat time...........

PS Still doing phone lessons. 715-563-8712

Thanks Gene,

We actually banged some balls for nearly 3 hours.... if you recall we we're the last ones out....and even then I had to drag him out as the mgr was giving us a dirty look :)

I only wanted to shoot some games as league was over, but it slowly turned into a "lesson", which I didn't want to ask for cause I just met him and didn't want to look like a guy trying to get some "freebies" and I really didn't want to pay for a lesson since it was already after 10:00pm, and I'm sure I would not be able to focus as well, but Gene was just too excited not to show me a few things anyways.

And I have to say, it was very interesting. I've tried out some of the stuff already, and it's sinking in. And Gene can play, and play well, not that I doubted him since he won the ACS National Masters 9ball just a few years ago...And there are some top players that play in this league from the Chicago area, and NOBODY wanted any action with Gene..... NOBODY.

Gene really believes he should NEVER miss a shot...... a good attitude to have, and one I"m going to adopt.....

But personally, I think calling this "Perfect Aim", is selling the "system" short, as Gene knows all about the "mechanics" of a shooter, as wel as strategy, and can teach the whole gambit of pool. Maybe "Perfect Pool", would be more appropriate, because I don't see it as a "system".....

I believe I have pretty solid mechanics, but perfect aim really helps on the thin cut shots and the rail cut shots, and the very long cut shots. And I really think if you have a good PSR, this will give you an excellent PSR, as it really makes you focus on the shot at hand.... and that is a great thing to be focuing on when at the table. Including getting your head/eyes in the right position. And yes, he knew right away that I'm right eye dominate but aim with my left eye....Stan Shuffet saw the same thing with me.....but for close distances, my left eye is the dominat eye.... When I shoot a gun, I guarantee you my left eye is NOT involved at all when I pull that trigger...

If I can think of any negatives, it is to tell him to "slow the hell down" !! I think he gets so excited being around pool, and helping others that he goes so fast.... as if the player might suddenly have to leave and he wants to make sure they have ALL the info before they do.... Gene, with the info you are giving, nobody is "leaving", so take a breath buddy :)

And since he was in teaching mode, I asked him so questions of playing on a bar box, and he let out a few secrets there as well...that should help for my Monday APA leagues that I hate but it is just a block away so I play...

Overall, this guy knows what he speaks of. He is excited to share it, and he has the skill set to back it up. Nobody knows everything there is to know about pool, thus I really believe it is beneficial to speak, play and train with folks from different backgrounds to see what else you can pick up and add to your own repertoire.

Hope to see ya Thursday if you wanna shoot some... You gotta at least let me buy you dinner for the info you "gave" away Thursday....so come hungry, they have GREAT food..... RJ

Double-damn, I wish I had the time to get something set up with Geno!

RJ, thanks for sharing. I already wanted to talk with Geno, and hearing you talk about your experience, I simply have to figure out a way.

Geno, do you ever come to the East Coast? :) The extreme northeast part of the east coast? Have you heard we have lobster here? :p:D;)

Hey Dub, just give him a call, and he will walk you through it. If the "program" is for you after the call, then if you want you can purchase the DVD since you know it will help you a lot. But from what Gene told me, if you don't want to buy the DVD after the free phone call, no hard feelings.... But I would not steer you wrong.... if I didn't like what he had to say, I would have just not posted anything here, and let the thread die on it's own.... you won't be dissappointed.....

I"m gonna buy the DVD just to have the resource available, never know when Gene is going to leave Chicago..... though it appears he might be here for a while...
