Jim Lee Customs for 2012 and more

I tried to send him a PM to do an update on here but got this message below. Can someone who is friends with him get ahold of him to do an update here for the several requests? Thanks

Read the original post Spimp and it can answer your question. Your friend cancelled his order, which I usually don't refund due to work that has been done and labor. But I said I would refund when I sold some cues, have you seen any cues sold by me yet? So let's lay off the soap box for a bit and when I sell a cue, your friend will be refunded as stated.
Thanx,
Jim

I feel like communication through email and the boards is not enough. Maybe that is the way he likes it...

Your cue is here and will be ready to ship soon. No promised dates will be given out as I have other projects, not cue or shop related going on also. So all owed cues are moving slowly toward completion, but are moving toward it.

Thanx,
Jim

I like how you try to do a whole reversal here and make it sound like it is my friend’s fault for cancelling an order as if he was impatient after the 4-6 months that was quoted to him…and he cancelled after about what 1.5 years…maybe longer lol?! As for the work that has been done and labor…that’s all find an dandy, what exactly did you do on his cue? Did you ever send him a picture with an update after your email saying (and I quote) “all the parts and pieces are cut and ready for assembly” which was a long time ago or basically what November of 2010?? When he asked for a picture after this and basically you sent him nothing to show the cue OR pieces ever were cut or existed? Soooo…we know that is probably a lie. You know it’s funny I understand people are busy and pictures may take a little bit of time but when not 1 picture is ever taken by request and sent it’s a red flag. If you wanted to charge for the time and picture or say $20 I guarantee that paypal would have been sent to you so quick before you hit the sent button with the $ amount the funds would be in your account.

As for laying off the soap box a bit, for crying out loud the thread was started almost 3 months ago and it is a $100 refund. I would assume you do business outside of AZ correct? I don’t keep tabs on your business so if you haven’t sold any cues within the last 3 months I am sorry for that, but no I don’t keep track on here what you have or have not sold. You don’t do updates in here and obviously you don’t respond to other peoples requests (see other posts) sooo… I showed him your last response and basically he is to the point he doesn’t give a sht anymore and with his permission that he just gave me…. Jim….you can take the $100 refund and stick it where the sun doesn’t shine!

I apologize to my buddy for a horrible experience with trying to get his first custom cue. Maybe down the road he will make one more attempt at getting one made but we will do a lot more research first.

I know I am a funny guy Jim. I was getting on your case. We have always got along just fine and liked the few quality wraps that I got from you.

I just hate to see you get yourself down on this stuff again, specially after a new start.

No worry there Terry, same ole crap, new day. Not getting myself in any hole man, i got a few wrap jobs , was part of the Indiana tornado area, no electric, family member was in the path, kinda had other stuff to do. I have contacted all I believe, and we are good, some have been mailed out, some are still here. But safe.
Not my style to give details, but some of u others need a life. Ur after me, ur after Eric Crisp, was Kevin Varney, and several others. This is a major reason I stopped taking orders. Cause some of you pay a small deposit, and somehow think you now own all of our time. We are supposed to jump and give updates every day, take massive amounts of pics at least weekly, call and update, text where we are on the cue, face book pics of the cue and post it to your wall, I could go on and on.

Know why?

Cause I have had each and every one of these requests asked by folks. Now do not get me wrong, 99% of all my customers combined are great folks and have become friends with many. But it's the 1% that made me decide to make what I want to build and work at my own pace.
In a way it is sad. No cuemaker is perfect, and yes some are better than others business wise. But I think customers forget we are human, we have lives outside of cue making. I mean when you receive calls in the late evening, middle of the night, early mornings, come on folks, would you answer a call that has woke up ur family to answer a cue question at 4 am and be super cheerful? And sometimes, we get sick, down, or just flat out don't feel good.
This is just my thoughts on why I made some of the decisions I made to begin this year. Others may see things much different than I do. But when it comes to me, this is what I say...

If you like my cues , thanx, if you don't please don't purchase one, please don't call me and say I love your cue and how it plays BUT, can you change everything about it that makes it your cue and make it shoot the same!

Thanx for letting me vent, and Spimp, thanx for the sun don't shine quote, very nice...

Jim, you need to understand, i've heard this before. You said my cue is here... I'm not questioning that you have it. "It's been ready to ship soon" IT'S BEEN READY TO SHIP FOR MONTHS if not a YEAR!!! What stage is my cue at? Can i get a picture of it? Last time you sent me pics of my cue it was

This was 8/17/10!

Last time we spoke on the phone i vaguely remember you saying you played with my cue. What is left to do?

No problem...I won't respond to your whole quote here because while some of it I may agree with, in my friends situation...well lets just not beat the dead horse. As for the quote, slightly overdue and felt good to lay it out there. Hopefully you get everything together with your orders as I have seen some nice work you put on here.

Jim,
Hope you can read this. Just wondering if you can ship my cue back. You had my cue for over a month, you said the wrap job was finished and going to ship over 2 weeks ago. Not interested in playing the 6 month waiting game. Whatever stage it's in now, just ship it back please. All I want is my KQ cue back. I'm a man of little means and the cue means a lot to me.

Ted

Ok, whichone of youdropped theacidin my coffee? I'm having one hell of a nasty flashback here.

I just hope it's not several months or a year or more. Can anybody speak from experience about getting a wrap job back from Jim? How long does it usually take after he says that it's done and he'll ship it tomorrow? He doesn't reply to email so hopefully, I can get an idea for how long it would REALLY take.

Took about 6 months to get a cue back after getting a rewrap and refinish done. Quoted a few weeks. Seam was very well done, but still an error with the wrap (not flush, about 1mm thicker than cue). Jim offered to repair, however I will not be sending back after all the issues on the board. I feel this should have been caught before it left the shop. Easily visible by eye.

Also, they did not fill out the paperwork properly in shipping me the cue back (not filled out as repair) that resulted in getting an extra $60 customs charge.

First and last order with JD.

Well sir, if I were not in the hospital, prolly would have shipped your cue out already. No communication, because I did not answer the same day, wow. I am so sorry ...

I know, maybe I should just change my name or my cues name so if you wait forever it is a privilege, not a burden. Wonder if that would work? What ya think, 2-5-10 years with folks saying, shut up man, that guy is a freakin genious, don't bug him. Be happy he even took your order.

Or

Just put a drive thru on the side of my shop and set it up like a 1 hour photo to make some of you happier! Then I bet the 1 hour wait would not work for some of you guys.
Now you all know one of the real reason's you see more and more cue maker's not taking orders. But ya never see our side at all. What we need is a section for cue maker's so we can tell our stories of being stiffed on payments, put off with delayed payments, and just flat get ripped off. Maybe that can even the playing field of some of you whiner's saying cuemaker's are terrible business men. and the damn flame threads you all love to start. Maybe it just ain't all us, HMMMMMM?
Love to see how you handle people doing what you all do to us at your place of work where you use that money to live and take care of your families? Bet you would have much less to run your chops about huh....nah prolly not, some of you just love all this drama.

You call this perfect? It hits my hand every time I slide to the wrap. I'll let the members on the board decide if they think it's "perfect".

Gotta love cuebuilders...
