I use EPA regulated clear coat.
In what way did you benefit this man?
Try bobsmith industries 20 minute epoxy rub it on with rubber gloves thin coat almost massaging it into the cues pores then sand till its a completly dull finish with 320 thin use a couple coats of thin ca to fill the scrathes and about 10 coats of medium then sand with 1500 2000 and buff you will suprised how decent it will turn out.
This was the easiest finish I ever did I don't do it this way anymore its a good way for you to get your feetwet tho. And find your own way. I would suggest searching epoxy finish in this section.

That statement is not true.
It is almost impossible to buy non-VOC compliant finishes in California, but there are some counties that still allow it. I use two different types of finishes and they are both VOC compliant.
Kent Davis, Ed Prewitt, Carmelli, Ned Morris, Tom Coker, my self, Richard Chudy, Pete Tonkin among many others use auto clear.
There is however cuemakers that I know, not many using West System, Raka, BSI epoxy for finish in California, not many, but there are a few.

He says he doesn't have the means to spray clear coat. Yet U jump his shit, about epa stuff. he's looking for a roll on clear or something to rub on his cue since he can't spray so now both of ur responses are useless as usual you should try keeping your fingers off the keys unless you have something worh typing that can be of benefit to the person asking the question. If you don't have a good answer in relation to not spraying then don't. Respond. Easy as that.

I just simply asked a question to the person that started the thread about cuemakers in California not using clear coat - I was just curious, that was all. In no way shape or form I was trying say something between the lines.

As everybody can read, my question was just something really simple... And then here you are... Every time I post you have to say something about what I write. Well, at least I know how to use punctuation in my sentences and use the spell checker.
You always think that I have something up my sleeve and that I say something with a second intention.
You need to focus more on your cue building and put me on ignore. That will save you some precious time you might need turning wood round on your shop.

Maybe I'm wrong, but if the guy doesn't have room to spray clear, why are we even talking about it? How about we try to help the guy out by suggesting other products besides auto clear? I've used west 105/207 and recently tried the RAKA and both have performed very well.

I think the post was a little vague, he never stated what he would teach this guy to roll.:smile:
Houston is about an eight hour drive. That might be just a bit far to go. Just to see one rolled.

Depends on when you roll the first one, the drive might be just a blur!!!
If I remember correctly. The drive from N. To S. Tx. Takes about 32 hours after rolling one! 8 hours if you do it before the rolling starts.
