This is an older pool cue that appears to be quite rare, as I have tried and tried to find any kind of information in regards to it and have more or less come up empty. I have only found one other KEEVER cue and it was not a Window Cue. The information I came up with may or may not pertain to my cue, but it is the closest I can come up with and some of this is just speculation.

I found a business called H SOL KEEVER which was a billiard supplier wholesaler in the Philadelphia area from at least 1967 to 1985 as I found two articles from both years mentioning the company at billiard trade shows. These were from a billiards magazine. I do not know if they made their own cues or had someone else make them and then sold them as theirs, as I believe Palmer Cues used to make cues for others that they then sold as theirs.

If any of the cue gurus here has any information that they would like to share in regards to this cue, please do so. The butt cap and rubber bumper are not original to the cue, as the butt cap was missing and the bumper was rotted. I have included a photo of the original bolt and bumper in case that may help determine who made the cue.

The cue has just come back from a refinish and has not been shot with since. The butt of the cue is 16oz, 29" in length due to the longer butt cap that was made for the cue during refinish, as I believe the butt was originally 28 1/2", it has a 5/16X18 joint pin and the butt sleeve stays ever so slightly off the table. The splice of the forearm runs down to the last couple inches of the handle area.

It has a new linen wrap, same color as original. The butt sleeve has thin rings of what looks like marbled black and white swhirl and thicker rings of Mother of Pearl. There is still some yellowing of the pearlized rings after refinish. The shaft is 28 3/8" long, 3.8oz, and 12.8mm at tip. It has a newly installed Ivorine 3 ferrule and has a newly installed medium Tiger Sniper tip.

Thank you,

Hi,

When I was a high school kid, I used to go over to Eddy Lobbie's cue shop on Elston Ave in Chicago near my school and hang out.

I bought a cue from him and he had the same type of plastic with a gold name sticker inside like the cue you are showing.

Thanks for sharing it as it brings back some great memories for me.

Rick

I can't help answer your question. But I would like to commend your efforts to restore such a beautiful cue. Whoever restored your cue appears to have done great work. You have made some great decisions here. I hope it gets back into action soon.

Thanks for sharing! Greg

Partner, I have seen a few of these cues. Recently there was one listed on ebay for $600, I don't know if it sold. But you could do an eBay search and contact that seller to see if he has any additional information.

Danny, the only thing I have seen close to the design of this cues lower butt and the weight / bumper design is the design that Eddie laub used on his custom cues. The major difference is the pin was in the shaft of Eddies cue, and I also think that the balance point in his cues was adjustable and the design was patented!

Sorry I can't help more Danny.:(

Any east coast posters know anything about this cue ? Joe at Classiccues or Marcus ?

NOTHING CONCRETE.....

LIKE WAS SAID ABOVE, THE CUE MOST LOOKS LIKE AN EDDIE LAUB CUE. IT'S POSSIBLE, HE BUILT THEM FOR THE BILLIARDS RETAILER YOU FOUND ONLINE.

IT'S ALSO POSSIBLE THAT PALMER BUILT THEM FOR THE RETAILER, BUT IT REALLY LOOKS MORE LIKE A LAUB CUE.

ANOTHER POSSIBILITY, IS THAT THE BILLIARDS RETAILER HAD THEM BUILT FOR AN EMPLOYEE, OR EMPLOYEES AS "SPIFFS" OR AWARDS. MY THINKING IS, THEY HAD EDDIE LAUB BUILD A HANDFUL OF THESE, AND USED THEM AS INCENTIVES.

Marcus

P.S. I DON'T READ EVERY THREAD, SO IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR HELP, DROP ME A PM.

Does anyone know anything about these ?

I know that you didn't pay the seller on ebay. Beware of "fasterthanaspeedingticket" on ebay. Apparently the 100% on ebay is not correct. He may not pay you if he wins the auction. Danny openly admitted he would be an "ebay Flake" and not pay.
