Well I finally got these two guys together yesterday and we had a little fun hanging out. Dennis has been staying at my house while he is not in Vegas. He hits balls on my Diamond table every day - FOR HOURS!!!
Shane called me two days ago to tell me he was in town, so I invited him to come by and see his old buddy Dennis . I'm such a schemer! Well Shane shows up yesterday afternoon and pretty soon the jawing begins. Ten Ball, One Pocket and on and on, they go back and forth with no conclusion. Dennis wants only to play Ten Ball and Shane wants only to play One Pocket.
Looks like no game will happen, until I step in. First I suggest they play one set of each. NOT! Then I offer $100 to the loser of whatever set they play, as long as they bet at least $300. Now both players are getting 3-2 on the money, and these guys aren't dumb. They now agree to play One Pocket, race to four, Dennis gets 9-8. We've got action!
Dennis wins the first two games easily and it looks like he will win the set. But now Shane catches his gear on this table and wins the next four in a row, all hard fought games with great shooting by both players. It's about 10 PM and Dennis goes to a late dinner with a couple of his friends and Shane and I and my buddy Adrian and Drake Bell go to Islands near my house. Drake has come to watch these two great players in action just because he loves pool so much. After we get back from dinner, Drake plays and hits balls until nearly 2 AM, when I have to tell him we're going to bed now. Otherwise he wouldn't leave, the poor kid is hooked!
They may play again today, I'll let you know. Enclosed photos (sorry about the poor quality of some) include Shane and Dennis outside shooting three pointers with me (I won, made five in a row at one time!). Then Shane did 60 push-ups with his legs up on the wall. Kind of blew us all away! A couple of shots of the two combatants in my poolroom. And one with me, Shane and Drake.
All in all a fun night and more fun for Shane cause he won, and BOUGHT DINNER! Drake tried to pay but we wouldn't let him.
