is it just me or is kamui chalk over priced..
Can someone tell me that this chalk is that good and is worth that kind of money...
Just curious to hear from people that have tried it

Thanks

Think about it in terms of this...if it were really all it's supposed to be, wouldn't EVERY pro player be using it exclusively? They're not. That should be your first clue.

Yeah, what scott said. You can get blue diamond for 2 dollars a cube, and i never misscue with it.

I agree with Scott.. I have never seen any pro play with it or anyone else for that matter

I just don't know where they came up with this price from, its really funny
Paying alot for a cue, case, shaft, even a tip is one thing.. But this is a piece of chalk!!!!

Ralf uses it and loves it FWIW. He dropped a piece down a corner pocket at DCC and was bent, lol. Every product finds it's own level eventually, pricewise, or goes away. I know a guy who loves it and paid $40 for a cube when it was all he could find. Others think he's crazy. It does not appear to be getting any cheaper, does it?

Depends on what you consider high priced. Yes, you pay $30 for a cube, but considering you only have to chalk once and never have to chalk again in your lifetime, then it's not such a bad deal because you can then go and sell the mint condition/used only once cube for $29.

Seriously, if you can afford it and perceive the value, great. If not then don't buy it. It's like that with just about everything in life, isn't it? Ball polishers are a good example. They are pretty pricey and I doubt worth the cost for someone that has to miss a car payment to buy one. Plus you can DIY for $40. But if you have the money and perceive the value of having one, then what's the problem?

I tried the stuff but don't particularly care for it. The pitch that you hardly ever have to chalk your cue doesn't mean anything to me - I'm lazy, but not that lazy, LOL. But I've heard from enough other people that have tested it long term that it sticks on the balls producing more skidders, and that as it gets laid down on the cloth it slows it down. Obviously being pasty rather than chalky it's probably harder to get out of the cloth.

Just not my cup of tea is all. But other people swear by it.

It's all good. ;)

Well if Pro Pool Players are like other Pro Athletes. They use what they get paid to use, endorse, or get for free. Allison Fisher still shooting with a CueTech Cue???

Every wonder why OAKLEY Sunglasses are so often seen on Pro Athletes, in the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc?

REASON is SIMPLE they get em for FREE. Yes OAKLEY Sunglasses are good Sunglasses, but FREE is a great incentive.

BTW OAKLEY also gives GREAT DEAL on their Product to Active & Retired Military, Police, Law Endorsement, and Fire Personal. So that is the reason so many of these folks wear Oakley's.

Ever wonder why your favorite NCAA Basketball Team is wear a certain Shoe? It could be the Team Coach is getting paid well by the Shoe Company to have his team in Nikes, or some other brand.

I bought a half used piece from a pro, who went back to using masters once the novelty wore off. But you miss the point - his stroke is so much better than mine he doesn't NEED kamui chalk. I do.

Amen I will take a House Cue & Wally World Chalk, and kick butt with Mosconi's Game, Mind Set, and Skills any day of the week.

IMO, this chalk is good. Yes, it costs more than most. I opened my first and current piece in August of 2011. I still have and use the same piece. I would say there is 25% of the cube left and that is with hard tips mostly. I play 10 hours of pool a week easy, some weeks more like 30. So $30 for something that will almost last a year? Not that expensive really.

And I guess not many Pro's use it, but what else do pros use that they are not paid to use? I know a Pro, who uses it and loves it.

The bad part, it is super hard to get away from it. I get tired of having to get my chalk to play at home and play at the pool hall, so I tried going back. Its very hard to go back.

So does Chalk make you an "A" player, or do need skill?

Kind of like say not everyone should wear a Two Piece Swim Suit.

Did I make my POINT?

apoligies to the op , didnt mean to sound like a smart a** .. , after i read it thats what it looks like,, all i can say is u have to try it for yourself. nobody can tell you if u like it , i keep mine in my case with my better cues that i use on planned playing nites. i dont use it when im using my truck cue . a beater (palmer repro) that stays in the truck cab all the time..
