Thinking about taking a road trip. Which pool rooms host tournaments, have action or are worth visiting?

In Va you got Q-masters in Va Beach then you got break away billiards in i think in newport news i may be wrong then oblisk billiards same area in newport news i think. But you can find action in Q-masters ill be driving up there in about two weeks.

In Georga you got Mr Cues ll in Atlanta and you got marriatta billillards in marriatta. And a few monster barbox players here in columbus and there is action at Players Billiards here in Columbus as well.

I have no info for NC and Sc and Fla.

Sterling, Va. has two great venues. Breakers is hosting this event, this weekend and First Break Cafe is a great place to shoot. Diamonds with competition pockets and good food.

Great place to play...hosts the Shannon Dalton GSBT tournaments a couple times a year!

Agreeing with JoseV. Mr. Cues II and Marietta Billiards. I know Sandy Springs Billiard was holding tourneys but don't know where they stand now but it is a nice little place if you just want to go play. The only drawback is that they only have 3 nine footers. The rest are eight footers.

I'd like to add Classic Billiards in Conyers, The Rail in Athens, Allstar Billiards in Winder, and Chicago's in Covington.

All are in or considered part of the Atlanta area.

NC - Gate City Billiards (due to local laws you need to buy a membership via the web at least 24 hrs in advance, like $5)

Just off I-95 in Springfield, VA is fast eddie's. Usually action there, day specials (I would think they still do it) where a ~$10 food tab get you free pool open- 5pm. 9' Gold Crowns and a couple 8's too.

Also worth visiting in Virginia: Q-Ball in Springfield has the most perfect gold crowns you'll ever find if you prefer those, plus heated 3C tables and a handful of guys who gamble on them. The area is great for pool in general, 3 worthwhile pool halls within a mile of each other.

In Winchester you have a couple of rooms too... I believe Action Billiards is where the action is (duh) and Blue Fox is more a family/kids joint (but all diamonds, not bad at all).

Two good places in Greensboro, NC are:

Jake's Pub and Billiards on Spring Garden St, (near UNCG University), 11 9ft., 2 7ft. great restaurant/bar food!

Gate City Billiards Club on Landmark Center Drive (off Stanley Rd.) 10 9ft., 3 7ft.

We've been told there are $200 one pocket games there. The service is good the fryers must run all day long. The place has tons of action:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

2 hours or so south of jacksonville
