On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Had a sinus infection that finally lead to an ear infection.

I played in the $200 midnite madness tourny here and was ahead 5-1 and all of a sudden couldn't see straight and was totally exhausted.

Could hardly get to the car. Reached in my pull along case and ended up on the ground sitting. real dizzy. As I got up Daryl from KC walked by. I think he saw me getting up and asked if I needed help. I told he no. If I can get in the van I can drive. Just having trouble walking. No balance.

The 9 ball tourny starts the next day so I asked Ray Hansen to put me in so I could sleep late and sleep I did. I slept 11 hours.

Only got about 6 hours of sleep. Gave a guy a Perfect Aim lesson and then when I was leaving another young man stepped up and wanted to learn.

Combine this with not enough sleep and it was prett tough to swallow.

This is the first time I played in a senior event ever. Plus we all had something in common. All the aches and pain from getting old.
Hey Gene, I enjoy reading about your adventures on the road.

I hope you don't take it the wrong way in my suggesting that you need to take better care of yourself.

Thanks there allen........

Hey Gene, I enjoy reading about your adventures on the road.

I hope you don't take it the wrong way in my suggesting that you need to take better care of yourself.

I felt great today. Except for limping around. I played great and won a qualifer on the 10 footer, 9 ball and ran a bunch of racks on a guy for some bucks.

I'm just getting to bed right now because I had some Perfect Aim customers that needed some help on how to get the most from Perfect Aim.

It was great fun but my sleep will suffer a little . By the way I shot tonight I could possibly win any match. how I feel tomorrow is another question.

I need to get to sleep.

Thanks again geno.......

Played the first match, got my feet wet....and want more...

The day started out kind of rough. Felt like I got run over by a truck when I woke up. Need to get some food in my system. Checked my blood sugar and it's 88. To low for me.

I ate but don't want to eat too much. otherwise it will cause the blood sugar to go too high and I'm kind of screwed then.

Got to the Event center here in Tunica and got to see all the great players.

Kind of intimidating to say the least. The good news is you just have to play one and some knock out others so you never have to play them all.

Both knees feel pretty good. Hobbled around for 2 days. Tried to stop a ball from going in the hole on a table and my quick little manuever kind of twisted one and pinched a torn cartilage in the other. Looks like the ice did the trick. Very little pain today but that can change in an instant.

Ribs are pretty sore but that is the norm these days. Got to really be careful when I break and use the body and not just the arm.

The ear infection that I had a few days ago is still there but is not painful and I drained it with a heating pad the last 2 days. Feel pretty good that way too. But having an infection anywhere in your body being diabetic makes it difficult to control the blood sugar. You eat what you normally do and the numbers just get out of wack.

But I needed more sleep than I got.Only got 7 hours. Not enough for me. Gave a lesson at the event center and then I let the guy doing the 10 ft tournys talk me into playing a guy in a 2 game qualifier. I needed the sleep more than I needed the qualifier. Now he will be after me to play a match here and a match there on the 10 footer. I need the rest more for the nine ball tourny.

I got to the room and I'm trying to play some. I'm not playing well. I was hitting them in pretty good last night. I focus on getting my head right and going through my checklist of Perfect Aim. It was kind of coming around.

Then I see that I have to play Lee Brett. The secret Art of Pool. We each hit a few balls and then we start.

We both seemed to have early gitters. But mine aren't really gitters because I have been shooting like this for an hour warming up.

Finally I check my blood sugar. It's at 88 again. Good thing I had a cookie with me and a subway sandwiche. I ate a cookie and 2 mouthfuls of the sub. I instantly feel better. I sometimes feel like popeye with his can of spinach.

I'm ahead 4-2 at this point. I shoot a carom and knock in the nine ball and then break and run 2 to close out the match.

Brett was pretty upset. He didn't get enough sleep either and had a terrible headache. I know he plays much better than he showed in our match. I just feel very fortunate that I closed out the last three games and gave him no chance to come back and beat me.

I had some naproxine. It's like advil on steroids, and gave Brett about 6 of those. I hope he gets rid of the headache. It's tough to play when you hurt. I for one know that for sure. I quit taking these a long time ago because they make my stomach sick.

I'm back at the room, iceing up my ribs and going to sleep for about 3 or 4 more hours. This ear infection has me pretty wore out but I have it on the run. Then I need to get down to the action room and play someone for something. Need to get an hour or 2 under my belt. Had hardly no practice time in for 3 weeks between being sick and doing lessons.

I didn't even look to see who I play at 6:00 tomorrow.

All I say is they better be ready or they're probably not going to like the outcome. They might not like the outcome if they're ready.

Great tourny, great fun. It' don't get any better than this.

I guess I don't find out until 5:00 who I play?

They let the players that lost their first round buy back in. Kind of a neat format.
Most of the players that lost their first match are an underdog to win this thing anyway.

I tried to practice today. Not enough time to get ready. Just need to do the best I can do.

Oh well.............

Hey Geno just got done watching you defeat Charlie Moore.

Good shooting.

The only comment that I would like to make is you were jumping up out of the shooting position as soon as you hit the QB.

What I do to prevent that is on my shot stroke I am listening for the QB to hit the OB. This really does quiets the mind and keeps you down on the shot......try it in you next practice session.

Good luck and keep on winning. And please drive thru St. Louis one of these days.

Hi there John,

it might be sooner than I thought. I need to get to the non smoking states soon. The second hand smoke has deteriated my health.

It will take about 2 weeks of clean air, excersize and good food to start feeling healthy again.

Thanks for the advice.

Your right. 100%

I think there are 28 non smoking states.......

Colorado is no smoking. The air here is great!

Isn't it sweet. No more smelly clothes or stuffy noses. Burning eyes or hacking and coughing.

it's hard to imagine how it used to be all over until you go to a tourny in a smoking state.

Good Job Colorado...................

I'm the customer Geno helped a couple of nights ago. I had bought his DVD 3 years ago when it first came out, and have been using it since. I had some questions for Geno, and took the oppurtuntioy to introduce myself and ask them. It turns out, I had misinterpreted part of his DVD, and was cutting to the left using an improper technique. To the right, I was doing it correctly. He fixed me up, and also gave me a tip that wasn't on his first dvd, but that he later added to the new dvd's.

Last night, I got into action immediately (cheap) to try out what he corrected me on. The change came very naturally, and my shotmaking was very strong. I will keep at it in the coming weeks. I'm actually looking forward to my next gambling session...

Thanks Geno, it was a pleasure meeting you, and your sighting/aiming method is helping me progress in this pool adventure.

I just got home after an 8 hour drive. My body is punished too after all week of being there.

Hi there and Thanks for the input.

As usual it was really fun meeting all the players from AZ at the Tunica Southern Classic.

That was the highlight of the whole trip.

I tell every player I can through AZ here that they need to call me for the free phone lesson. This will assure that they understand the video for sure and get the most out of this.

This does work for everyone. You just need to know exactly how it works.

And the info is Priceless.

Thanks again Nick, it was alot of fun working with you and opening your eyes totally to a whole new world of aiming.

Someday this will be the way people teach players how to aim. it's just the way it is.

Keep us updated on your progress. geno...........

NOooooo, Geno you gotta stay and get adjusted to it. :)

Geno, just for you I'm gonna give one FREE 30 minute phone pep talk. Call when it's good for you.

Hi Gene, this is Larry from kansas who owns the table you named the intimater...LOL I have been working with the perfect aim and ran my first 8 ballrack on my table and ad you remember that is no small feat. Since that rack I have pretty much ran down to the eight every time. I have also run 10 ball racks and I know I owe ditto the lesson I got from you. Thanks again

Pool Story about HEART...Real heart.........

First I need to set the stage.....

I'm 59 years old. Broke my back in 2000. 2 knee surgeries and need a third and a forth.

Had shoulder surgery in 2010 to repair dislocated, ripped up right shooting shoulder. Still doesn't work right and hurts all the time.

Crushed when a 27' Fleetwood Southwinds Class A motorhome fell on me about 1 year ago today. I still can only take 3/4 of a breath, can't wait until the day I can take a full breath some day.

Then we have to throw in that I'm diabetic. Those of you that are diabetic know how tough it would be to do what I do. Not a very fun type of disease. Zaps your energy, strength and your mind.

I've been on the road for about 3 months now teaching and playing pool as most of you know. Lately I've been in smoking states.

Just doing what I do when you think about it, displays heart, but what I'm going to tell here is a pool story about digging down to the very depths of heart to shoot yourself out of a trap.

After being in 2 smoking tournaments and giving lessons in smoking poolhalls for 2 weeks my game has gotten pretty weak. I don't want to stay in the smoke and practice so my practice is pretty much non existent to say the least. 3 weeks of it.

Now they have this great tournament called the Tunica Southern Classic here and I'm right in the area. I might as well go there and play and see how many players I can help with my Perfect Aim.

When I play in my first tournament there I realize how helpless I am from not playing much at all for 3 weeks. I'm trying to compete with players from all over the country and world that are at the top of their games. I had some real good matches where I dominated but then again I had matches where I just flat out laid an egg. Not a good way To last in any tournament.

I am just flat out and down, OUT OF STROKE.

I get up at 11:00 on thursday to play Ike Reynolds in the big 9 Ball tourny. I'm having trouble shooting balls in warming up and imagine that, I shot the same in our match. Ike played bad and still won. He just missed a little less.

Then I gave 3 Perfect Aim lessons. These take about 2 hours each. I'm getting pretty tired.

Then I play Max Eberle in the 10 ball. We're both 2 matches from the $1000 first prize. He broke and ran 5 racks in a race to 6. What a great showing. Great job.

I layed down for about an hour and came back to the convention center and I gave another lesson. Then they anounced that they were going to have an 8 ball mini tourny, $20 entry. First is $100 and 2nd is $60.

I play and win it. I played a guy that is Asian, his name is John, in the finals of this tourny. I also played him in the Big Bartable 8 ball touny and beat him there also during one one the matches that I shot good.

To be continued on the next post.......

continuation of HEART post..........

Now this guy named John is a really nice guy. He's trying really hard but it just didn't seem to be going his way.

I approach him about the Perfect Aim lesson. He seems interested but it is hard to convince him, like most players, about how much this can improve their game.

About an hour later he walks up to me and says, let's you and me play some sets. I was kind of surprised by this and said yes. He says how much do you want to play for and I said whatever you want. I'm thinking I don't want to scare him off by saying too much.

John says how about race to 9 for $200, 9 ball. I said sure.

We play the first set and John really seems to struggle. I win 9-7. I'm laying down a little to keep it kind of close but towards the end of the set I have some definite fears of losing because I can see this guy can play. I was kind of wishing I had shot in a couple of more 9 balls.

Maybe he was trying to get a spot. Maybe not. But by the score being 9-7 it would be hard for him to ask for one and easy for me to say no.

He flips the coin for the second set. He doesn't try to raise the bet so I think I'm relatively safe. I'm thinking this guy is just playing the way he does. This will probably be his last set and I'll make $200 more.

Did I get a surprise. John is ahead of me 2-1 and he puts a 5 pack on me. Not only did he run 5 but he played precision shape all the way through the 5 racks. This precision continued until the end of the set. I lost 9-2.

I can see this John guy is capable of playing like a champion.

Now I do some quick thinking in my mind. What's going on here?

I'm tired. It's now 4:30 in the morning. This guy just brutalized me my last set with one of the best displays of shooting that I've seen in over 2 years at any level on the 7' diamond barbox.

I have 2 choices here. One is to quit which might have been the smart way to go. If this guy keeps this up I definitely can't win. I'd be donating.

Two, is to raise the bet. Let him know by sending this massege to him that I am confident that I can still beat him. The only way that I can win here is to shoot the best pool I've played since starting again in 2008. I need to keep him in his chair. Control the game. Keep him cold. Let him know with my shooting that if he misses he might not get back to the table again for awhile.

I don't know how much to raise it and I don't want to scare off my action so I only asked for a $300 bet. If he declines I know I'm OK. Maybe that last set was a fluke. But he accepted right away and I knew I was in a real battle to keep my cash .

He immediately sends a message back to me. He says let's go to 11. I know he thinks he is the favorite here by wanting to make the race longer. This favors the better player the longer the race.

This is a powerful message sent back at me. I don't know what to think.

Now it doesn't matter if we're playing for $300 or $2000. This is going to be a battle. An all out war between two good pool players. This guy John is a winner, I can see that, and I know I'm in for one hell of a battle. Need to put on the boots.

Now I didn't do this without some real solid thoughts behind it either. I know that I have been trying to get in stroke for about a week here at tunica. I'm starting to feel pretty good about how I'm seeing the shots and moving the cue ball around.

So this was a calculated, rational game that I was playing. Now I just had to keep this guy, John in his chair to get the cash.

Whenever a roadplayer would come to town years back and we played for 4 or 5 days I just loved to go to a tounament right afterwards. I would usually win. Could I still have that same kind of carryover?

I guess we are gioing to find out.

I won the 2 sets. The only way I did it was to keep him in his chair. I played almost Perfect pool for the 2 sets. In the second set I was playing safe and the cue ball just rolled out far enough the see the ball, I shook my head in disappointment. John looked at me and said, that's the first mistake you made in 2 hours. Then I thought to myself, he's right.

Now I just needed to keep it up to the end of this set.

In the last game of the set John finally missed a ball himself. This was the first real miss he had in the last 2 sets. He never crumbled under the pressure but just got beat. There is a big difference. He couldn't keep me in the chair. I kept him in his.

He shook my hand and walked out. Not many words were said. He did say he would play me some on the 9 footer. I told him I'm way too tired tonight but that I would for sure play him on the 9 footer tomorrow.

Unfortuanately he had to go back to Atlanta that morning with the friends he rode there with.

The next day I got a call at about 7:30 PM. It was John. He told me that they call him Asian John from Atlanta. I said Yes I know now. Some guys from Atlanta were at the action room the next day when I left and they told me how well you played.

John told me that he won $3000 for the week in Tunica before he played me. I told him I was not surprised. He told me he was really impressed by how I shot. He said not only do I teach something that seems to work well for others but I could actually play.

He asked about my Perfect Aim and said he got a first hand display that it really works well. He ordered my video and asked how long it would take to get there. I told him a couple of days. I told him to make sure he called me for the phone lesson because some of the things I teach are not on there.

We also talked about business and about marketing my video. It turns out this is one of Johns areas of expertise.

Who knows. It sounds like this might just be a 3 way winner.

1. I had and won, one of my most memorable matches ever even though the amount was not huge.

2. Another, going to be amazed, Perfect Aim customer and believer.

3. And who know, maybe a new business partner and friend.

Isn't this pool fun. It's like an adventure everyday.

It don't get any better than this.

Gene thought you told me you never got your second dvd done. I was suppose to get the new one when it came out. i'd like to give perfect aim another try because it never did click for me.

Hi there Dick,

How's that neck doin. I hope it's feeling better.

No I didn't do it yet but I'm trying to figure out how I can do it as soon as possible. Been on the road ever since I saw you about 2 months ago.

Hopefully you'll be playing more.

Looking forward to stopping back there at big Dogs. It's right on my way home.

When I do get it done you will know for sure. You get the first copy.

Thanks again dick, Geno.......

Hi there Nick,

One of my favorite things in pool is showing someone Perfect Aim in Person after they have already gotten the video.

The new info that I shared with you is a must know and I hope anyone that reads this will call me to recieve this valuable info. If you have already bought the video you might as well call and get the most out of it.

The call is free. 715-563-8712

I only wish I could be there to see how fast your game improves in Person.

Have fun and thanks again geno..........

The night was looking kind of gloomy when all of a sudden........

I went to walgreens today at 6:00 to get my meds for diabetes. My doctor in Eau Claire wouldn't call in a prescription because i havn't had an office visit with him for 2 years.

I did have my A1C test done and the results sent to him but I guess he needs to make some money or I can't expect him to keep calling in a script for me every 6 months. Must be tough work to make that phone call.

So I called the night DR on call and told him I needed enough pills to get me through until I can get to someone here on the road. And tell my Dr he's fired. Kind of jokingly.

So i didn't get to High Pockets until 8:15. By then league had already started and the announcement that I was there was in the middle of league.

I only had about 3 players come over and ask some questions even though this is free. It's amazing how many players just assume that this is something that they already know. And the reality is that none of them know how this works at all.

I set up a lesson with 1 player of the 3. The night was kind of seeming like a bust when a young man came up and asked me about Perfect aim. He had his girlfriend with him. She is pretty cute, Chinese I think, and she has just starteds to play pool not too long ago.

The young mans name is Danny and he could see the merit of Perfect Aim and set up a lesson almost immediately after seeing only a couple of things.

Then I told him I could help her alot also. I told her come on over here and I'll show you how this works.

I showed her the dominant eye and how to position it correctly and she just lined up the ball and shot it right in.

There came that big smile that I love to see and she replied; It's so much easier to aim the shot. my reply was, That's why they call it Perfect aim.

Danny had to almost peel her off the table. She couldn't wait to try shooting in another ball.

Then I set up a long shot, cut to the right. She missed the first one by a little but drilled the next 2 dead center in the hole.

This is why i do what I do. The results are so rewarding for me as a teacher. I feel very fortunate that I have something like this to teach that helps players so much.

I'll be at High pockets again tomorrow. I have 2 lessons and I'm going to try and play a little.

See Ya all tomorrow.

One man, a van and the road...........

good day today.......

I had a good day today but I've had enough of the smoke for sure.

High Pockets has a great air system there but any smoke is too much for me.

One of the players that I gave a lessons to explained the no smoking laws in Memphis. As long as they don't let anyone in the poolhall under 18 they can have smoking in there.

What a way to keep pool from growing. No new players to groom.

All the poolhalls here in Memphis have kept the smoking and I can't blame them. If one of them made their place non smoking all the smokers would switch to the other poolhalls. Tough situation.

Tracy at High Pockets is a class act all the way. The help is great too.

looks like I'm going to miss
Jackson, Miss and the greenroom but I won't miss the smoke.

I have lessons tomorrow and Friday anyway.

I had a tip put on in Tunica and after the second day I was having trouble playing with it. it felt kind of funny. Tonight I found out why. It was like the glue disappeared or something. It vcame right off. it really sounded funny for a week when I chalked it.

Put on a new tip and my game straightened out right away.

Loose tip is a game changer for sure. I'm getting a setup tomorrow to put on my own tips again. I always used to before. it's time for me to do it again.

I'm not slamming anyone that puts on tips. Just need to know what I got for sure.

I was pretty disappointed..

Looks like I will be in Memphis until Sunday for sure. Too many lessons to do to leave.

Oe man a van and the road...........
