Sorry but I have to cover it all, I allowed multiple choice.
I feel compelled to ask this in a poll because of how bizarre that person is and have to ask here if there has ever been anything like this person here.

But ... there are no choices.

Here you go, most are from my ignore list for you to choose from:

brad21156
dom_poppa
GetMeThere
Goose1972
The8reader
Vince Jeffries
WhatsTheSpot
PocketPoint

I'm thinking that a maybe around half are the same person..

PGHteacher...Well, you forgot to add the poll! To answer your question, there have been several posters who "thought" they had this profound understanding of how things work...nobody that went to this kind of extensive writing...but yes, there have been others. Pocketpoint was certainly one. Most of them are just complainers looking for attention.
All of them have been vastly misinformed, on several levels.

I can see the poll I don't get it, must be something I did wrong but can't find out what I voted and others did to.

I would say he was someone who DIDN'T have a vested interested in maintaining the status quo.

I don't think the person is anyone who has visited these forums before. I have emails from him unless the name used there is fake.

I had to vote Other because the profile matches several of the options.

Namely
Mental Disorder for inability to learn anything
Someone who does not understand different and better, probably due to the above mental disorder
I actually would have picked "Stupid" but the quality of the layout, images, text and just the sheer amount of research (as much in the wrong direction and filled with bad info it was) would rule out "stupid". I'd pick "Ignorant" in the sense that a person who grew up in a swamp catching alligators would be ignorant of the workings of a jet engine.
Stubborn would be another one.
And I do think he is trying to help, but who, I have no idea. Like Dangerfield said in "Back to School", "Good teacher. He really seems to care. About what I have no idea. "

And the positive options are...?

Maybe, just maybe, 'he' has a point. Maybe the game is in the gutter because the pool 'community' is an utter farce, and needs to look in the mirror.

But we don't like 'those' types around here, do we?

It's not pocketpoints style of writing....and posting.

Dunno who it is, but they are stirring stuff, IMHO.

A mass of people who can't play and have no interest in the rules won't help anything. Anyone who takes this guy's advice would not be interested in paying for table time at a real pool hall, nor watching a pro match because they would be all confused as to why they don't just hop on the table and kick the 9 ball in with their toes after moving the ball a bit to make the shot easier.

I've not kept track of all he is saying, but I got the feeling he was suggesting a framework for pool, rather than a bible. As such, refinement is to be expected.

Either way, nobody else is doing bugger all to harmonise the game. One standardised set of rules is ESSENTIAL for the game, and if WE don't take steps to enforce them, who will?

Get him back.

I know who "we" are...and you are not one of "us"! Actually you fit the profile in more than a few of the catagories. Get him back? A better idea is you go join him. I also would have voted, except I'd want to vote on several catagories.

Did you even read his manifesto?

I know you like the other side of the coin but I think in this instance if you had read it, even you would think that bugger was nuts.

Please read his instruction/rules manual. It is clear that you haven't. Here is his original posting:

I would not describe his style as one of "suggesting" anything.

What's with all the crazy terminology?

PGHteacher:

You haven't been here long enough to remember folks like PocketPoint (or the PocketPoint-a-likes that sprung up like mushrooms faster than Mr. Wilson could stomp them). There have been many like that "poolkillers" screenname persona (you describe above) in years past.
