Justin as always a great post! Efren certainly wasn't tired when we first started to play and no one had to twist his arm to get him to play. Once the agreement was set up with the rights to the match he started practicing and was ready to go. Efren came out of the gate and broke and ran at least the first two or maybe the first three games.
I was staking the match and SVB wanted a good chunk of the action himself, pulling out a lot of his own money and putting it in! I am glad I was able to watch this match, and will remember it for a long time.
As far as the match with SVB playing Efren even one pocket, I think that SVB has a good chance to win but is a slight underdog. Obviously staking this wouldn't make too much sense.
To this day the best one pocket I have ever watched was from Efren, he is in my opinion the best player to ever pick up a stick. I watched Efren give Scott Frost 9 to 7 and beat him to death one time at Derby. All Scott had to say afterwards is I can't wait to play an American! Scott has gotten better since and Efren isn't quite at his same level so obviously now it is a much closer game.
We all know what Grady Mathews used to say, i quote " i'd love to play a guy who shoots low % shots, because he will miss more than he makes" Scott is not naturally fit for one pocket, he has no patience for up table game' therefore, no match for Efren.
