Who Bought Virtual Pool 4

I saw the ad here yesterday and went to the site and liked what I saw. So I went to buy it and then found out it only works on PC's, not on MACs.

So what's a PC? :) I thought they went away with the dinosaurs.

It's quite enjoyable to play, nice looking graphics and modeled well. My only issue is the lack of a sense of touch. I find minimal mouse movements can result in a ball flying off the table, while with a fast stroke it just dribbles. I'll have to play around with the sensitivity settings some more.

I played the game a couple of hours and the physic is just incredible. The amount of work on this game is huge. Yes, the graphics and the sounds are not incredible, but the physics and the gameplay are.

I have the same problem. They changed the stroke aspect on this VP4... you now have to accelerate to get action on the cueball. In Vp3 I can play pinpoint positions but not at VP4. I need to get used to it.

I understand they are going to change the draw back of the cue further like in vp3

Operating system

Surprised you did not look at the system requirements before purchasing a computer game. You could of course buy a copy of Windows 7 and install it on your Mac using boot camp and then play the game after booting into Windows. It is not the "hardware" holding you back but you are trying to play the game on an unsupported operating system. If you had an iDevice for example and bought a game from the google play store and it wouldn't let you play the game on your iDevice would you be surprised?

Good of you to take time out of your life to straighten him out like that, but I don't think you read his post real carefully.

Thanks

Kevin

Ah, that is a maybe. We have not gone back and evaluated the Mac market for a while. Will do that after VP4 is done and see if it is worth doing.

(VPEER) is the creator of Virtual Pool

My average is down to .631 which frustrates me immensely because I know if I could get the hang of the stroke it would be better. I just love running the table only to have an easy 8 and dribble the ball one rotation and seeing that nice big "FOUL - BALL NOT HIT" in the corner. Grr. Argh.

No. I am Steve's only true pard.
