Recently I have been going to onepocket.org to read the bank pool section only to find that it is being run into the ground by a few posters that are so negative it's not worth reading. No matter what is stated there are negative responses that are just plain rude. I think it might be a good time for AZ to consider a Bank Pool Section to the forums. I have watched John Brumback in person and attended the last bank pool tournament at Red Shoes here in Chicago and all I can say is WOW! If you have not seen Bank Pool at a high level you should see it if you ever get the chance it's amazing!

I'd agree, but it seems that there's a bit more of a limit to things that seem to be discussed about banking and bank pool. For anyone that wants more information on banking and bank pool, there's already a wealth of information available through Freddy the Beard's site, his posts and Brumback's posts. I doubt that having a separate section for it would get much attention, but I could be wrong.

Sounds great to me. I attended the Southern Classic and got a chance to spend a lot of time with John Brumback. I came away with a deep appreciation for Bank Pool.
There are plenty of sub-forums on here that don't get a lot of traffic. I don't see why Bank Pool couldn't be given a shot.

I've been working on my banks. I think I'm totally addicted. But they confuse me. But, ehhh a lot of things confuse me.

Hi Loren, I would highly recommend Freddy the Beards books on banks especially the first one. It is without doubt the best written, most informative book on banks that I have ever read. After you read the first book and digest some of the tons of information you should get his DVD's.
Seeing is believing and to read it first then see it in action is a great learning experience.
To me there is nothing finer than banking your way out of a jam and running out on an opponent. I have applied what I learned from Freddy's materials to save myself more times than I care to admit. If you ever get the chance to see the top notch bankers you will be amazed, they hit some of the banks in at what seems like an impossible speed. Smash em, crash em in they go, just outrageous!

This is absolutely the fact. I was going to post a question or two on there, but I saw how malicious some of the posters had become and decided to forget about it.
And yes, high level bank pool is a very exciting game to watch!
First topic: would you bet you can make 5 banks in a row, given BIH for each?
I don't have to bet. It's pretty darn easy to do especially banking across the table to the side pocket. The side pocket is pretty big on most tables and it's one of my warm up drills to nail some banks into the side pocket.
Banks are a very interesting shot you can do so much with speed and english using rails. That is where the best seperate themselves from the rest, their understanding combined with knowledge is amazing. Another thing is how well they understand table conditions. I grew up on an island off the coast of Massachusettes and during the summer when the fog rolled in towards nightfall you could literally watch the tables change do to the humidity. Talk about tightening up

Yes it is a very valuable shot to have in your bag. I made 10 to 12 banks to help me keep running out playin 9ball down at Tunica.(I couldn't get postion but I banked and got out anyway)I over heard one of my opps say...oh no not another bank,LOL John B.
I could not agree more. There is a member on my ACS team that truly loves to play pool. He has two tables in his basement one Diamond bar box and a Gold Crown 9 ft table. He hates banks and avoids them at all costs. On the rare occasion he has to play one he's really out of his element. I have done everything I can to get him to practice and learn more about banks with little effect. He understands the value of them just can't bring himself to studying and practicing them. The rest of his game is very solid, any advice on what I can do to get him motivated?
