Sitting here at home waiting the Hurricane out. Just called Buffalo Billiards.

Buffalo Billiards in Metairie, LA suffered some serious damage from the storm. A portion of the roof was compromised and large amounts of water and insulation found it's way into the pool room.

Half of the pool room is undamaged. The other half doesn't look good.

Hopefully the roof will be fixed in quick order. They are in the process of cleaning up the debris right now. No electricity available there just yet.

I guess I made the right move....

Hi there Joey and Lock,

i was going to stay there kind of because I wanted to see a small hurricane. It looks like it turned out to be a huge disaster and is still causing big trouble.

I'm glad I'm gone but kind of wish I stayed to help some. Don't know what I could have done but I'm sure I could have done something.

Good luck everyone there in the area.

When i was in New orleans about 4 days ago I asked some people how high the water was. I the area I was at they pointed to about 5 feet over our heads and it was marked right there on the wall.

It's even hard to imagine unless your right there and see it.

Hope all is well for you guys on the east side of the storm. I have a house and townhome in Broussard and apparently not much in the way of winds or rain (luckily). But electricity has been out at the house since yesterday morning about 11am. I hate pine trees! The guy who split the property into homesites about 30 years ago planted pine trees about every 25 feet for almost 1/4 mile. Now they are about 80 ft. tall and 18" in diameter, all right alongside the power lines. Every time the wind blows more than about 50 mph, the limbs break and knock a transformer. Still feel blessed that there was no real property damage as a result other than some spoiled food in the frig.

Hello cuenut,
I am glad you did not have any major problems from the Hurricane. Thanks for your concern for me. It is always good to hear from people that are thinking about you when you are having problems. The floors are wet, and no electric as of yet. The fence is down in several places. I am OK though. I am in the car with the ac on and charging my laptop battery. I thank God that the storm did not do any more harm to me. I hope it did not do harm to everyone else. You keep safe! Thanks again.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Hello JoeyA,
Sounds like you are OK. Sorry about the worlds pool hall having problems with the storm. People were asking me how you were and sending their best wishes for you and I. I told them I did not have a number to call you to see how you were. I am OK. I called Buffalo Billiards last night and today, they did not tell me about the roof damage. I just asked how everybody was doing maybe that is why. I was worried more about Buff and the crew than the pool hall. Now I know thanks to your update. I Thank God for us not having more problems than we did.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Hi Boss! I'm glad you and Joey made it through the worst of it. I was watching coverage the other day and my thougts were definitely with you and all the players in harms way. Sounds like it's gonna be some hard work getting things at The Worlds' Pool Hall back to normal. I hope all goes well and your back on the tables within the week.

Take care with much love from Grid Lock in Cali

Hello Grid Lock,
Very good to hear from you. I thank you for your concern for myself, JoeyA, and the other pool players in Louisiana. I am sitting in my car now on my laptop. Nice in here with the AC on. No power in the house yet.
The Worlds pool hall is working on the roof and other damage as of today.

I'm sure they are pretty busy......

Sounds like lock might have alot of work to do and Joey too.

But I'm sure they have plenty of friends to help also.

Good Luck everyone in New Orleans with getting things back to normal.

Be careful and stay safe........

Hello Geno,
I have a couple of friends. I am still without power. In my car with my Sprint wireless card and my laptop. It must be a hunderd degrees in the shade down here! Thanks for your concern. And your being my friend.

Buffalo Billiards, the worlds pool hall has a lot of work to do to get back to normal. Buff and Bulls Eye are working hard too. If we could just get some power! You don't miss your well until your well runs dry. An old true saying. I see how Tarzan lives now!

Geno get my cell phone number from someone when you get back, so I can meet you. Thanks again.
Many Regards,

I wish to thank everyone that expressed their concern for JoeyA, myself and fellow Louisiana people that were in the way of this Hurricane. It is a great feeling to come to AZB and have friends concerned about you. It is so hot down here now without power no AC. I am sitting in the car typing this thank you. Thank God for friends.

Alot of us have been without something we take for granted.

When something like this happens there are a whole lot of people doing without.

My car AC went out this morning on the way to my first match. The traffic kept me in the car for 1/2 hour. Then when I got to Skinny Bobs the place was packed and hot. To top it all off I had to play on the stream table with the hot lights. Ray kidded to me that they we'rnt very much hotter.

But on my way to my match I pictured you in your car with the laptop. No air conditioning and still keeping us informed about what is going on.

It might be days before you get your electricity back and your air. I only got a small sample here of without. I feel your pain............

hang in there.........Good Luck..........

..........

Just got power back!!!!!!. I live in Plaquemines parish and have been out since the evening before the storm. Now I can get on my table again.

I'm glad but yet let down

I'm glad to see that some people showed some concern. It really gets to me that people don't seem to give a hoot at times. What I really think is if Lock were someone like Archer ,SVB , or Schmidt , this thread would of been lit up .
Lock , My hats off to you sir :yeah: What some people need to learn from you is how you treat people like people .It does not matter if it's Matt Highsmith or Buddy Hall ,you sir give the same respect to each man until he or she does something to lose it .Rare it is to find this quality in a person,I hope I have a little in me as well. This song is for you .

I am glad you have power back. I am not that lucky right now. I know it will come though. If you be late with your power bill payment they will cut you off. But I bet they do not offer a discount for taking so long to get power back to you! Not you can play on your table again.

Geno,
I thank you very much. I hope you won your match! It is hot. Not just down here. At least my AC in my car does work. I am sorry your AC stopped working your car.
