On a thread that was removed, (rightfully so) somebody mentioned he'd like to see pics of indian head penny JP's that Jim made. Here are mine.

Jim was very patient with my clumsy attempts at pics, but I finally got it right. Those combines with caliper measurements of my Josey cue resulted in these...colors and widths of veneers & rings..everything matches my cue perfectly. Couldn't be happier.

Those are sweet. I like the way you can tell the 2 shafts apart from looking in the case.

Thanks

Kevin

great looking joint protectors

Thanks you very much for posting the pictures of the Jim Baxter joint protectors. I am the guy who asked to see them. I think these look sensational and are an incredible value at $60. Sometimes it is difficult for people to pay sticker because everything is on sale everywhere. A good example is JC Pennies going to everyday low pricing. They are trying to offer value everyday, but the product has to represent that value and they are failing on that issue. They are attempting to sell something for what it should go for, but their customers are trained for sales. Over the last decade or more, stores take an item that should sell for $60, mark it up to $100 and say 40% off. The sale is fake. The item was a $60 item to start. Kohl's, Macy's, they all do it.

As for these joint protectors, I am shocked they are only $60....The lost opportunity here is not having bought them for $60 and selling them to me for $120 , but I am not a cheap.....well, I won't go there but it was an interesting 15 pages.

all the best to everyone.

The OP in the thread that was removed was in the right.

Yes the seller said he was wrong, however as many tried
to imply he did not say he was sorry, ever in the thread.

The OP had every right to defend himself against attacks
on him by others.

In classic AZ style people jumped on the OP for keeping
the thread going, when actually it was their attacks on
him (OP) that kept the thread alive. LOL

How was the OP in the other thread even remotely right? He made a lowball offer, way to lowball, 33% off. On an item that should be listing for more than $60 to begin with, asking for that much off is just asking to be yelled at. He got what he deserved. He flaunts his stupidity in front of others, and he gets what he gets.

Forgot to mention that a coin dealer friend gave me the pennies. Evidently they aren't highly valuable unless the lettering atop the tips of the feathers is visible. They should be available in any coin shop for not much.

Yes, with one heads, the other tails, you can easily determine which shaft to grab. Jim made mine in a concave shape which also makes the shafts easier to pull from the case.

Like I said, couldn't be happier.

You just don't get it do you ? You're an idiot.

You have to have some thick skin to be in the cue business.
It's not your typical customer-supplier situation when dealing with the actual craftsman, especially on joint protectors.
My experience when someone goes off a little like Jim did in a PM or email, is to use it to my advantage,
and re-negotiate the deal.
The OP articulately started a thread, and did a fine job of defending himself, however I would of never started a thread like that,
but that's just me.
Why was it deleted?

Maybe I don't, but what I do know is that the other guy was being a cry baby, got called out on it, Jim even apologized, and yet, he still continued with the drivel. Maybe next time he goes to buy a cue, he'll offer the guy 66% of the asking price and we'll see where that gets him. Maybe another thread about his crying because he got cursed at.

everything i ever try to sell on this site either gets bumpped to the 5th page in 30mins are i get offers of less then half of what i asked for it get over it

When Dmitry send cues and j/ps , from Russia , to me , This is the coin he uses . Beautiful coin . Jim

So it was Jim's helper that made them. Jim had to pay her for her time and pay for the materials. Then he was expected to discount them $20.

Dealing with people can be a lot of fun. I know I like to get a good deal myself sometimes as I'm sure others do as well.

That was an insult to a craftsman to offer $40 for a quality set of JPs.

Maybe I don't----- There's no maybe.

He's a cry baby---- No he defended himself.

Got called out-----For keeping the thread going, when really it was his attackers?

Jim even apologized---- no he said he was wrong--- never said I'm sorry.

Still continued the drivel--- continued to defend himself against attacks.

Maybe next time he'll offer 66% of the asking price--- maybe 50%

See where that gets him---- maybe he'll just receive a courteous response.
