If you think for one second that people are going to stop buying from Jim Baxter because your ego got bruised, his temper flared and he cursed you out, think again. You were hoping to get a brand new, unused item for the typical used item price, and it didn't work.



If everyone stopped to make a thread about how they got treated today by a seller, no one would have time to reply to anyone elses thread. In the end, you posted a customer review of Jim Baxter, a review based solely on a reply from the man. And you expected us to not dog pile you? If you had purchased something, you might of found the reactions a bit different.

You know...I don't think Jim has a problem...he openly admitted he kinda had a moment and it is what it is...

But the real problem is the people who say that offering below 'retail' is low-balling like they have never made an offer on an item...

If you had to put an MSRP on these j/p's, it would be about $100 or so.
$60 is a reasonable price, and I'm sure that Jim feels they are already discounted at that price.
Most of the cuemakers I know, hate to make j/p's.
What the shoppers need to do is wait for the next sale.
Maybe as a concession to this issue, Jim could give anyone he has ever wronged first dibs the day before the next j/p sale.

I have a couple of sets from Jim, both were $60. If you want a nice matching set to go with a fancy cue, $60 shouldn't make you flinch. If it does, you're better off with a set of Delrin caps from EBay for 10 bucks.

I don't recall anyone scoffing at the pricing on Jim's JPs.
If anything, they were saying how they were underpriced.

Lets see.. I have a Nike Air Jordan, right foot only... a right headlamp from a 91 datsun Z, or a Commodore 60 disk drive (not working), one Skyway Tuff Wheel, cracked in red... can we do business?!?!? :wink:

Honestly, at 60$ people should run to buy them. They are a steal... In the high end cue market world, what can 60$ buy?

- One double notch diamond inlay on a Zinzola cue (see the pricing page on his site).. I’m sure there’s more labor in the JPs than in a single inlay
or
- 2 Kamui Chalks
or
- 3 Moori Tips

Overall, I think 60$ for custom made JPs is a great buy.
One more thing, when someone dishes out over $1K on a cue, 60$ for a match set of JPs should sound like a no brainer.

yes sir you did lol and the funny part is i wasnt even trying to sell them i was reading the main forum and seen you needed them but trust me i had a few cues for sale and you would not beleave what people offer i put a cue on ebay with a $2000 OBO and had people offer me $800 but i just reject it i cant get mad the way this economy is everyone is trying to save a dollar
