Arrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggg ))&&(*&%*& ^*&^$^%%& *(*(* (am I allowed to say that in here?)

Well, needless to say the run on the CNC Lathe did not go as thought. I didn't want to waste wood on a first try so I used an old house cue butt shaped like a bow.

I tried taking .020 off at my taper. Well, as promised I did a video. The fun (?) starts about half way through.

I am afraid Todds dream is up in smoke. I think I might put it up on fleabay for offers. I don't forsee me buying another lathe to make that one last cue. Enjoy

What was the problem Tom? I didn't see it

Don't put it on Fleabay, maybe I can trade you something.

Didn't watch the tape yet, but I wouldn't expect gratness on my first try or my tenth.

Wow...that worked nice.

I put my safety glasses on though after your warning.

You tricked me.

Problem was--------------nothing, LOL. Cut so clean you would not have to sand it.

Zero waves, no wood hair.

You now have a compact lathe CNC that will cut anyones taper you want. No more being married to Taper Bars.

You can cut Points in Forearms with 90 degree bitt. If you want to do 9" you G code for 9" if you want 7" you G Code for 7", you do what you want.

Cutting Ring work to size? Use a parting knife on Tool Post and use Pute Screen as DRO so each is perfect size, .250, .125 what ever you want.

Cut all your shafts down equaly in one day, 5 minutes per shaft.

You have a Tourney to work doing Ferrules and Tips? Run the CNC carrage off and put on regular carrage with standard Tool Post.

I can't list all the possibilities.

I won't be buying another lathe because someone would have to come up with 10K for me to think about selling this one.

Adapt your present Taig type lathe? 123 done.

Todds going to need a body guard to bring him to the bank.

Great job! Now I have to learn how to use cnc or find someone to write codes for me- lol

Zim.

No sweat on 2 Axis. If you were say to send me size per inch I could write them is 30 seconds and send them to you. I will do a simple Video on g codes in the near future.

I'm appalled by this machine, just thinking of all the men that will be watching daytime tv because of it, is disgusting:grin-square:

J/K, great job Todd, and you too Tom, on the vid. Looks sweet!!

Awesome work.

Awesome work guys, machine looks great. I can't wait to get more information on it. Thanks for sharing Tom. The flood gates have opened.

LOL, I am just glad I am on the inside looking out. I already have mine so I don't have to sell my car or wait in line to get one.

Maybe I was wrong!

Not likely. I would not jump on this band wagon yet. I am glad you understand G-code so well. That is not common. It would be nice to see a video on that demonstration. You will want to run several test on this machine before you go into production or there will be a bunch of unhappy folks out there. I would be interested in how well it holds size on the X axis (the axis cutting across the chuck). Not worried about the Z axis as that is not as critical. How smooth will it cut a shaft at close to finish size.

Jim.

Jim,

I Plan on doing a finished shaft, cutting ring work etc in the upcoming week and video all.

If you look at the video again you will see the uncut part of butt flopping like crazy yet the part cut running true on a .020 cut. A straight shaft will not have the flop or spinning weight so the cut has to be as clean or cleaner and I only take .010 passes on shafts.

There is no band wagon to jump in. I took an educated gamble and bought it. The World was once 100% believed to be flat and Chicken Little was 100% positive the sky was falling. Heck if it were not for Geiko I would say so simple a Caveman could ----------

Why do you have this cnc lathe posted FOR SALE in the for sale section of this forum? Didn't you just buy it then rave about how good it was, now it's in the for sale thread for sale

I showed my wife this last week and explained to her all the great benefits

Her answer.......... that's cheating I almost fell down laughing so hard

I told her I would teach her the count down method and she could taper all my shafts then........then maybe I wouldn't hear when you going to get (insert name here) cues done

GREAT job Todd and Tom

Slim, lets think this over. I am not stateing what comes with it, only a price and a YouTube link. Some or many never come down to this part of threads. They now however have seen the video and gotten Todds phone number and Web Site. The high 90% plus will contact Todd on price of new one which will be wayyyy lower than $7,500.00.

Do a Google Search on Layered Cue Tips and see where UltraSkinLayered shows up. This is in a time span where most will tell you Google will not even find you for ranking.

Its called Marketing for Todd. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing in it for me, just helping a nice person.

cnc lathe

So you cut one cue with it and now it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. It may be, and I hope for Todd's business it is. But "Come On Man"
one pass does not a great tool make.
