every year we try to put on the best tournament possible, no matter what happens or how its ran someone has something to say about it or messes it up. its hard putting on a tournament, what makes it really bad is when certain companies promise to provide certain items or products then dont do as promised.

we tried contacting some pool and billiard companies to ask if they could donate some items that we would use as prizes and or prizes in drawings for the players. one did , one didnt, and one ripped us off.

one company said the product in question was backed up in production and couldnt provide us with a unit at that time, so we agreed to advertised for them with the agreement we would recieve a unit when availible for next years tournament. they promised to provide a product in enchange for advertisement in the form of commericals, print. we added over 17k in cash last year, top players from around the country and canada, hundreds of people watching and now they say they they wont provide us with the unit. i will not mention who they are or what product it is but i hope they read this and realize that is not a very good practice . yea we got used. ripped off of services, but i guess its our fault for being so trusting in people and companies. my bad.

Join the club. There isn't much to be said. At least you know they owe you one, if they plan future business with you.

I think it would be helpful to know who this company is, should others make the same mistake you did in trusting them.

Why bring it up if you are not going to say who they were, that doesn't make much sense. How can I or anyone else who wants to not buy from them for this action, be able to with out that info?

I have given advertisement on my live streams, I would say a couple times the company did not follow through or give me what I was owed. It makes you feel like crap because you trust them and you do them a favor by waiting and you keep getting strung along.

Was the agreement in writing, ie a contract? If so you have recourse. Even if it was a verbal contract you still can take them to small claims court to recover what is yours. You should take them to court either way. Even if you lose it sends a message that you won't sit by and allow yourself(or the players you represent) to be taken advantage of.

Maybe some of this stuff would stop happening if people took the time to put things in writing so there is a record and recourse if someone deosn't follow through.

I too think details should be provided to prevent it happening again. That way if anpther party is going to deal with them they'll know enough to get a contract.

Come to a public forum to complain about a company that cheats you, yet unwilling to name the company...

baffling

Agreed... what am I supposed to take away from this guy's post? "Some company somewhere has cheated a person at some point in human history"...

ok, but I already knew that.

If he believes there's any chance they will eventually follow through he should pester them privately until it happens. If he's convinced they're never going to follow through, go ahead and out them.
