Us Open Updates....

With this monster international field and the murderer's row of great Filipino players he beat I think this is the most impressive single tournament victory of Shane's career thus far.

Many years ago I think Shane stopped in our local hall for a game. Can't remember much about that night it was so long ago. I do remember playing him soon after that in the Windy City Open 9 ball event. He beat me with me being a game away from the hill. It was a bar table tournament so everyone had a puncher's chance. I didn't know why there were so many people watching our match. It wasn't long after that he could be seen on tv with the pros. Great to see an American take it this year. Way to go Shane!

Didn't know what Orcollo was like, but he sounds like a really nice, modest guy. I'm glad I can pull for another one of the world's best.

I agree. I was doubting the outcome when the brackets narrowed down and it became clear who was left. Shane played without doubt and without a doubt the best that I've seen in a while. It sucks that I had to miss the finals.

It's only page 26 for me...so this can keep going for quite awhile!

... but your itrader says 69, so you're good!

He beat Alcano, Parica, Pagulayan, and Orcullo. Pretty damn good!

Damn straight! I missed the match with Alex, but this one may be the best $7 I ever spent. Dennis' play was so relaxed and precise, nearly flawless. But Shane, he played like God. Maybe he is?

Anyway, thanks for all the hard work, Shane. You brought it back to the U.S., and we are all very thankful for showing the world what we're all about in this game.

I gotta say, even though I wasn't watching this, I was on the edge of my seat since the updates started coming in! I almost wore out the F5 key refreshing this thread every 15 seconds!
