Kim, LOL, I am so sorry. I have never played with a Hard Tip in my life. I would steer you wrong. Please, give your feed back on it, good or bad. The elves might drop a few extra tips in your next orde.
Well I put on an HH. Installation was fine. I sanded it, put a thin CA puddle on it first, let it soak in a few seconds, wiped it off, hit it with kicker, lightly re sanded it, put it on with lockite gel. It cut like a very hard tip. I trimmed it down to 4 layers and a dime dome.
I played with it for a few hours and I liked it. While it was a hard tip, it still grabbed the cue ball and played well. I had one miscue but that was me.... I was digging too deep for draw. You don't need to chalk every shot. All the Ultra Skin tips hold chalk for several shots. No need to scuff them all the time. When you do, just rough them up lightly and don't actually sand off tip material. They should last a long time.
I couldn't jump with it but I think that was just me. I see others jump with a softer tip but I can't.
It felt very solid but not really rock hard. It would work for a break tip but I wouldn't use it for one myself.
I try different things all the time and I change tips like my under ware, I think I will leave this one on.
Tom doesn't pay me to say this but I think Ultra Skin tips are the best I have used and I have tried most others.
Kim
