U.S. Open Checks Bounced???

My comments in that quoted post stand on their own (feel free to re-read them). Those comments however, do not contradict the fact that it's 100% evident that BB is making repeated, unacceptable mistakes. I do NOT condone continuing down the same path. Something has got to give.

I made that post because I believe some people were taking the BB bashing too far, and as short of the mark he may be, he's done a lot of good over 37 years and he deserves some credit.

I'm pretty well informed. But do know, FWIW, I am VERY concerned about this tournament, as evidenced by a # of my post Open posts.

I believe Barry MAY have one more year to get it right. But IMO if he messes up again, the Open under BB either is over, or following years become irrelevant - irrelevant because the top players will not play in BB's charade and faithful stalwarts like me will not pull out their wallet any longer.

The fat lady is warming up and it's a F'g shame.

Koolkat9lives,

I have intentionally refrained from posting on this matter. BUT your comments are just nonsense.

We all know they tried to their best ability. As they did in previous years.
Sorry - that does not get it.

We all agree that world class pool was displayed. But the players must be paid! How can you justify anything else?

Until the players are paid, this event was an embarrassment to the whole pool industry. I really wish the Behrman's the best in paying off everyone, but the model is flawed.

Several suggested I get involved with this event. Thanks, but no thanks. I am quite certain that Barry and I would have several disagreements on how things should be run.

I do run several 'pro' events - and I see no way this event can survive in its present form. Sad but true!

Can the event continue? Anything is possible but I don't have the time, energy, or inclination to do this kind of event with the constraints already in place.

Time will tell to see how this shakes out. I am watching, as are many fans of pool.

I deposited my check today (there is no SunTrust Bank in Los Angeles) and I have my fingers crossed. If it goes through all is good. If not I will have a lot more to say on here. I should know in about one week.

Maybe Barry would do better if you would loosen your strangle hold Appearance and Promo Fees

what was the check for ? like $65K ?

Shame on you getting fat while the players starve

Kevin just figured it all out! It's all Jay's fault The Open is in tatters!

Fyi last year they signed deal to broadcast in Asia with more than 25 million viewers.

Same deal this year. Many of the Accu-Stat shows will air on TV in Asia. With all the filipino players you will see a lot of the 2012 U.S. Open over there for sure. I think their deal is with ESPN Star Asia, a major television network.

The only reason why I bought the feed was to see Jay trying to rack on a table that had been tapped in 20 different positions.

Good luck, Jay! Look at it this way, you have 3 to 1 odds in your favor.*

Just sayin! Jay lives in a palatial ...ah...palace.

Jet Sets all around the world.

Has no job

you see him at all the events!

It's Jay killing pool!

Jay your rake is too big! Trim the skim down to about 20% and let the little guy get some.

LOL

And you do a great job for it.

Thanks for all you do for pool.

Come on, get a stack together and lets do a LA Open. I'm sure you've recovered from the last one. Lets rock!

Sorry to disappoint you Tate. The players racked their own this year. That was all my fault too!

I might just do that, IF I can find the right location. The big IF!

I had suggested to Mark Griffin Laughlin, Nevada. I figure 5 star hotels that sell rooms for $29 a night would be willing to do anything!

$19

Great idea but I little tough to get into isn't it?

BTW. The rooms at the Red Rock are sweet. I had their cheapest (which wasn't cheap) and it was big, with a huge flat screen, lots of space, a marble bathroom with a TV in the tub.

No hooker included.

Efren, Gabe Owen, and Jeremy Jones have done it.

Are you sure Gabe has won the US Open 1P?.. Cause the 3 I was speaking of were Efren, Jeremy, and SVB, who won the 1P last year, in Vegas.. I know Gabe won the DCC 1P, but i was unaware he won the US Open 1p?..
