First time I really watched this. First two misses, I was thinking this is going to be odd. Then Corey runs out the game... seems like the professionals won't take too long to figure this one out.

People won't pay to watch it if they don't understand it.
is it fun? is it fun to watch? Will the pros really buy into it?
very hard to introduce a new game to something that is 500 years old....... or to players that have been playing 8 ball and 9 ball for a long time

hard to fig out which pocket the players can shoot for.
That video is about 2 years outdated. The game has been drastically simplified.
This has also been solved. The home teams have white jerseys and white pockets. The away teams have black jerseys and black pockets.

lol yeah. I absolutely agree with your concern though. Before I came up with the solution of the color pocketed, my entire video crew couldn't keep track of who was shooting what-where.
It's easy when you're playing, but as a spectator it takes that extra color coordinating to make it easy.

I really hope that this does something for the pool world and I hope it works out for everyone involved. With that being said, I def do not like bonus ball at all. It seems to me to just be another game that people wont understand immediately and therefore will just forget about it. Ive read the rules and watched a couple matches on youtube. I like the logos and the idea of jerseys/teams are ok, but I dont think this will do very well but what do I know.

Playing Tonight with Barry
Barry Bremner, one of the guys behind Bonus Balls, is coming from Winnipeg to play me a race to 5 tonight. We played one game months ago. Should be interesting. I have the sequence figured out which is pretty simple, purple, orange, black. Numerically speaking Purple (4 ball), Orange (5 ball), and black (8ball). I wonder how many times I will shoot at the wrong pocket?
After that I get to teach him a little straight pool.

This is growing on me. That's fun to watch. Whether or not this makes it big time or not, I'm sure this game will survive. Seems really fun to play. I wonder if pool table manufacturers should color the pocket backings differently--- maybe 3 polished silver and maybe 3 polished brass (for GC) or maybe 3 brown leather and 3 black leather (for Diamond). That way, it's easy to play and follow.

Looks to me like you would have to be a truly great player to play the pros even a bb.
It has so little luck and it is not a breaking contest.
I luv the shot clock,team concept. Sounds like the bb guys know what they are doing.
God knows the current promoters are clueless

It was a great time Friday night! Rob never shot in the wrong pocket and of course, I did! LOL We played on a 4.5 x 9 which is tough to play on anyhow for amateurs but it was all good! We used the proper balls but just used pennies to mark the score. We never used any time limit and just played to 21. When I play I usually just mark the pockets with a coaster. I never forget which pocket I'm shooting at! The Fargo Billiards house pro, Rory came and played and was amazing! I had seen him play nine ball at the US Open before and did not realize how much of a talent this guy was. Bonus Ball forces you to play so many great shots in a game and Rory was amazing easily beating me 21-6 then 21-8. I got several visits each game and had a lot of fun, despite the difference in skill levels. I shoot like a jet because I have played the game so much. New players try and over think and spend too much time before shooting at first. Once you play the game more, it all becomes quite natural and the game is more fun because you don't need to think for two minutes each shot! It just takes a bit of time to quit worrying that your going to leave a player a run-out. It is a relaxing game to play!
Don't listen to anyone that tells you this game is boring! Bonus Ball is an awesome game that plays well at all levels. I am not stupid and I have really put a lot of effort to make this game fun to play as well as making it strategic and to test your shot making skills. Archer and the rest of the players that joined the WPBL professional league, would not back this game if it was stupid. It's an awesome game that is here to stay! It is gaining new fans day after day!
Like racing (which is super successful with many different forms of racing), there is room to have a new addition to the sport of pool! Nine Ball and eight ball are fun to play but eventually, we improve and some of us want a more challenging game. I am one of those players that had to make my own game because I like strategy and making tough shots! I also get killed when I play high level players but in Bonus Ball, I still have fun because nobody runs me out and I get many visits to the table! (Usually) Try it for yourself with any ball set or any level you want. Go to www.wpbl.tv and watch the game, don't be closed minded and enjoy seeing the top professionals playing Bonus Ball! Go to www.playbonusball.com and down load the rules and have a lot of fun!
