I think thats an good idea Mike, if you are going out Christmas or Boxing Day, everyone should take a camera along. We can see some of our fellow members.

I'll take my camera on Boxing Day. Maybe if we try hard enuff, some of us can get some nice Tata pics.

Blue Hog ridr, The room was in Gate City but I believe it closed down 25 to 30 years ago.

In keeping with tradition I will play pool on Christmas though, I will be playing in my own billiard room at home. I rarely visit my old home town, perhaps a couple of times a year. It's out in the middle of nowhere BFE near the Kentucky and TN borders.

You can see the door to the old Bob's Pool Room right there on the right hand corner next to the street lamp. Also note the court house. On top of the weather vain is a piece of a moonshine still. I plan to play Xmas Eve morning at the community center, but the family get-together is at 3pm so I'll need to quit around 1pm.

The community center is closed Xmas day to give the no-good, lazy employees the day off. Bah! Humbug!
 
When we hold our family gatherings on Christmas night I usually head over to the pool hall and play a few hours before hand. It is a good time to give who ever is stuck there a nice large tip too,especially if they are my usual afternoon bartender/server. Here most of the places will open around 3:00 and will be dead dead dead until later on in evening. Unsure what our plans are yet but if it works out I plan to hit 'em for sure!
 
We've got this pool hall chain in Kuala Lumpur that opens all 16 branches 24 hours every day of the year. However, we will all gather in the first branch that opened 5 years ago during major festive seasons.

This year we celebrated Malaysia's Independence Day with a whole lot of world class phil players! Without a doubt we do have something planned for Christmas! Perhaps a little money floating around but the drinking.. :D
 
Is my pool room the only one that's closed on Christmas? Oh wait, the owners think it's a college bar/music venue, not a pool room.... That's probably why. Shame to see a room with 10 Diamond Pro's being ran that way.

what part of NorCal are you in? I was born and raised in the Bay Area and spent most of highschool in Butte county. I dont recall anything open on Christmas but the bars that didnt have tables...

But that was quite a few years ago.

Im gonna try to let the little lady go do her thing with her family and I'll try to sneak off to a pool venue here in Phoenix. there should be some action somewhere...
