MODS/Owners: Why Is Bill Stroud Still A Member Here?

If Bill Stroud has perpetuated a hoax (fraud?) on the az community by way of his "Design Your Dream" cue contest in which he has not only failed to deliver the prize in over 2 years, but he has reportedly not been in contact with the winner, mhaimi, in a very l-o-n-g time, why then is he allowed to remain a member here, apparently in good standing?

Really not looking for opinions from anyone other than the az Mods/owners on this thread. At least not initially.

There are a few current threads up where others opinions can be shared.

I think it would be good to get the official AZ position on this.

I wasn't around when this happened.

Was Stroud given any type of payment for this cue? Has the plaintiff suffered a material loss of some sort?

I haven't heard the story.

You must have missed the part where I asked for just the az mods/owners to respond in this thread.

if you do a search for "Design Your Dream" you shouldn't have any problem finding the original thread that will explain everything. It's the one with about 40,000 views and is 65 pages long.

If you want the mods only to answer, email them personally. However, you know full well why he wasn't banned: He didn't break any rules.

He didn't curse at anyone, attack anyone, etc. He's not a troublemaker. He didn't steal from anyone either (and I don't believe even if he did, that would be a forum violation).

I'm personally of the opinion that he should just get up there and say he screwed up, and won't be able to make the cue. However, in no way did he do anything worthy of a ban.

Actually, by not delivering the cue, you could argue he stole a lot of intellectual property from AZ'ers (the designs). Just sayin'.
 
Admitting he won't be giving a cue might make him more vulnerable in court. My only guess why he is keeping quiet.

Excuse me...but the Mods can be PM'd. If you post on a public forum...over which you have NO controlling authority...whether people respon or not is their business, not yours.

CLEARLY since you didn't PM the Mods...your purpose was to publically BASH Mr. Stroud...who may or may not deserve it. I haven't followed that saga.

But if you express your OPINION on that subject...in public...then others have just as much right to post in this thread as you had to created it.

Stroud came on here with a contest asking everyone to design a cue and send it to him and he will pick a winner and that winner will get his design made, something like that. Guess who won and got stiffed :)

I'm quite sure if this was john smith or john doe's doing,a lot of the people on here wouldn't be the nuthuggers they are. It's BILL STROUD!!!!!! Big f'in deal.

Hello eagleman;

I'm aware the mods can be pm'd, however, this was not a private matter that affected our community so, therefore, I thought it would be appropriate to ask via public thread for a clarification on why Bill Stroud is still allowed to be active here.

My intent in this thread was not to bash Bill Stroud, but rather, to get az management's position on this.

And, of course I have no "controlling authority" here.

I simply *requested* that fellow az'ers resist the temptation to chime in here until the mods had a chance to provide some clarity. And especially since there is no shortage of other Bill Stroud related threads in which opinions are being posted.

Sorry if it struck you wrong.

I wish either the cue would be made or a explanation would be made by mr. Stroud because these type of threads are not only extremely pointless but very annoying. I come here to read about pool not listen to people complain about a issue that happened years ago..
