First the bad news

Hackers got into my email and sent a letter to everyone in my address book saying I was mugged in England. An obvious scam. If they knew how people, in general, feel about me, they wouldn't waste their time.
Seriously though, if any of you were pestered with this, I apologize.

Same thing happened to me about 5 months ago, except it said I was in jail in Madrid. The bad thing was they stole all my email contacts and then deleted them from my computer. Too bad they don't take these sleasebags out and shoot them when they jack with peoples lives.--Smitty

I think that would be too quick and painless, they need to suffer a little for the hassel they cause people, I hope nobody actually sends these scumbags money, it would be hard to believe that they never get money though because they seem to keep up the scams. Im sorry to hear about your life invasion Alf, similar things have happened to me and I know what a pain in the butt it is changing passwords (well not the change but trying to remember the new password) and the time you will spend explaining to people what happened, hopefully you had a Merry Christmas and you will have a bright New Year!
 
Wasn't a Hacker Alf. Just a spoof email that you opened and it hijacked your address book.

I get a goofy email and the next thing you know, my inbox is filled with Porn emails.

Hmmm, wonder how that happened. I didn't do it.

And here I was ready to start receiving donations to get you out of the UK.
 
No worries. Same thing happened to Warren Costanza (The Monk). I knew it was a scam but just for fun I tried replying to the email, hoping to get the scammers to meet at a certain location. Then I was hoping to get the english police involved. Never went anywhere, ended up baffled trying to figure out who to contact and how to reach them. I hope guys like these get caught somehow anyway. It's a pretty lousy con.
