No one actually sent anything except for halfdeaded's contribution of a tip shaper and 6 pieces of chalk.
21 gambler sent a case, but requested shipping compensation, which was fine, but we were looking to put a cue in the case. It was like buying him accessories for the car that he didn't own.. we're probably going to send this back to him.
All I really wanted was to be able to gift him a cheap but decent player. I wasn't asking for people to donate their cue collection or anything.
I didn't think anyone would be interested in seeing me hand him a tip shaper and an iou for the cue that I had hinted was on its way.
Honestly I think my efforts made his birthday/Christmas worse as he always has low expectations, but I had indicated that he'd be receiving things and then did not, leading to be let down significantly more.
The lamest part is that the people actually did send items to the "girl" who was essentially the op of that thread and he stole all the items that could have really gone to my captain and there would have been pictures and videos for days, but guys are ready to help the "damsel in distress" even when it's actually a undeserving, lying guy.

No one ever begged just asked for assistance during the holidays, the most of us will never realize how it feels to get crapped on every year, during a time where people that aren't born in December have enough trouble getting through. I have yet to write ed's feedback but it will be posted shortly I just moved and was without internet for a few weeks. I didn't ask for free, I posted that I didn't have much to spend. We pooled a but together, bit still have less than 80 after paying back the shipping for the case that was donated. Say what you like, I honestly could give 2 shits about what you think of me, I was just trying to do something nice for my captain. Like I said, if I had a job that paid me than minimum wage you'd never have ever heard from me. On that note, I hope that you had a better holidays than we did.
The reason it's in for sale is I was/am offering to buy things that people aren't using but don't need to get top dollar back for. That was the spirit of the thread. The people that donated freely were just that much better people than you or I. The underlying theme was help out the downtrodden. The fact that he's an amazing person is only icing on the cake. As long as the spirit off the holidays permeated the goal was half achieved. No amount of crapping on this thread can change that and I thank the members that even considered being charitable.

Be a man with a spine do the best you can do with in your circle of friends and get something for your buddy don't come on here begging have some self respect. I would say the best way to spend the little money you can get is at a local pawn shop as they always have some cheap cues in cases hanging around may not be the best but its something...... Actually yes, I am. You and I will never understand what it's like to be entitled to double but get less than half. He never complains except for to comment occasionally that the part that bugs him is that people are discontent with what he would have been ecstatic to receive. The unsatisfied are truly spoiled.
