Help me make my Team Captain's B-day/Christmas brighter?

I read the forum post about the girl Jenny that people are assisting, and while I think it's absolutely fantastic, I have to wonder if it's because she's female that the willingness to help was so abundant.

This guy just gives and gives. He literally puts in more time, effort, and money than he can afford, he gives rides to anyone that needs it, even from the opposing team, I cannot stress how important he is locally to a lot of players.

He is a 5, but I think if he had better equipment that he'd be a 7. He plays on the straightest bar cue he can find. It would be an amazing act of generosity and I know it would completely make his holiday season.

You guys were awesome to offer things willingly to a female that doesn't really know much about pool, does it change that he knows how to play and that he's a guy? He's more deserving in my opinion, but I understand I'm obviously biased, but he's awesome. Hopefully some of the same people or the offers that weren't realized, will help out here as well. My dad was out of work through high school... I didnt get an xmas or birthday present

i actually feel this is a slap to DMs face. if you posted that link in a non pool related forum, your clique would be the first to say "the guy shoulda had a real job"," poor money management" "blah blah blah".
he obviously played pool because he loved it, or out of neccesity.

Of course, you know, I have no "straw men". But if it somehow makes you feel better to refer to people that way who agree with me on just how ridiculous the premise is, of panhandling az members in order to help a poor soul who was unfortunate to have been born in December, then by all means, keep calling them that.

I'm not sure how much of a bumpkin you really are but I suppose it is possible.

That would go a long way toward explaining why you may not have been aware of the recent Sandy Hook and Hurricane Sandy disasters and instead thought the subject of this thread was a worthy cause.

I hope you feel a keen sense of having done good.

I agree... the POS should be banned.

I don't have any extra money because I plan on spending it on other things. But I will call the guy and straighten things out if some one would please send me an activated cell phone. And if some one would be kind enough to donate a good camera, I will post pictures of me making the call. Also looking for a nice camera bag and cell phone charger. :D

I have done several deals here on AZ tho, and while we remember the bad folks,...lets also remember that there are some amazing people on here, still my favorite way to buy a cue :-)

Sticky would be great. I also like to actually TALK to a seller also, and if I can't reach them, I won't do business. Simple as that. I gotta hear them, it helps me read them a little.
