Cue values "up or way down"

Is the market still bad for reselling cues? Are people still getting BEAT when they sell their cue/s?
I'm asking because I have a couple Predators and an Olivier. I'm just wanting to know if they're worth selling right now.

The pace for buying anything except maybe guns is down in this economy.

I didn't buy a cue last year and probably won't buy one this year either.

Prices seem high enough or too high over the last few years to me. I can remember when you could get a dream one of a kind custom cue made just for you for $1,500 now they seem to be starting around $4,000 and up depending on the cuemaker.

I've never really been a cue flipper. I think I have sold 2 cues in my life and have given a few away to deserving beginning players.

I just buy one.. Then may see another one I like. Do I buy that one. Or bought that one. I haven't bought a new cue in a couple of years. Plus when it was Allowed, I'd win some from the raffles.
Just kinda narrowed it down to 1 cue. And the rest are in some cases in a closet.

Some guys will drop they're price to move cues fast.

I guess it all depends on how hard up for money the seller is.

I sale alot of cues local that helps fill in the slow spots here in az land.

I am just a small time dealer, and its alot different if I had to support a store front.

A suggestion for everyone getting ready to buy a cue.
Please Buy American made.. Support your localy owned business.

What counts as local? One of my favorite cues is a custom one of a kind Mike Bender. He lives in Alaska. Mexico, many islands in the Caribbean and Canada are more "Local" I get the buy USA idea and it makes good economic sense if the product is what you want. If I want a Volmer or Arthur Cue I'm going to buy one instead of buying something I don't want. Though with that said, all of my custom cues have been made in America so far. At least with most true custom cues you know where they are made unlike cars.

It aint great thats for sure. I'm ok in most of my cues, overall i'm way up but I have a few I took a loss on, overall no its not time yet. The scary thing is it might not be time ever again IMO, too many cue makers and pool aint breaking records-so who knows....

You are right My statment wasnt very thought through
It was a request to support small localy owned businesses.
I never really thought about the people that own homes in different countries or the jet setters.

I havent ever met Mr bender.
I have heard he is one hell of a cue maker.

No matter what country a person lives in they should support they're local businesses every chance they get.
But by all means if someone wants a cue that is made in another country
then go for it.

Unless your sellin' AR-15's, times are slow. At the show here in Tulsa this weekend, people are lined-up just to get in. The guy from StagArms told me they have about a 4yr backorder situation. Money was changing hands at a phenominal rate.

I'm glad I own the guns I want already.

I guess the big gun rush just shows how many people in this country didn't have their priorities straight when it was easier (cheaper) to get them.

As for cues, yeah, the market isn't great. But there are always deals to be had and people do make a little reselling or "flipping".

I am having my first cue made soon. I can't imagine not using an American maker.

As for used cues. Well, I like a lot of different cues, some of the old ones I like are Asian (mostly Adam). I can't get a 35 year old Adam or Helmstetter cue from an American cue maker obviously. But I am only generally buying such a thing if I get a steal of a deal anyway. They are fun to own and real bargains can be found. When you tire of them you can easily sell them for more than what you paid if you were even a little careful when you bought.

I think we should definitely be supportive of the efforts of US based cue manufacturers, especially the ones who do not import any of their cues.

You can own all the guns you want, but they won't go bang without ammunition. The popular calibers such as 9mm, .380, 45acp, 22 LR, and 5.56mm, aren't available anywhere.
And as for you handloaders out there. Tell me where you can find primers. You can't.
As for pool cues. They're not selling worth shucks, around my parts, and neither are used cues. No one has the money.

Glad I bought my Stag last year! Zombie gun makers will never catch up now. Don't you wish you had bought a dozen a few years ago for $4-500. $6000 then returns $20000 or more now!! Better yet are the SKS rifles selling for $90 ten years ago. Finest $100 rifle ever made! Tie a rope around it and drag it down a dirt road and it still shoots!! Try that with a $2000 deer rifle! Things will calm down on the gun buying in a few months. Buying an AR right now is like trying to buy a Murry Tucker! I got my Tucker and my Stag real close to each other! Just like Christmas.
