eBay Cue - Whatcha Think

I think there is someone in Pompano beach Florida that knows enough to be dangerous and he found his own personal Koi pond (FISH)

Yeah...I was watching that...but I wasn't bidding!

Hard to say for sure but it does not impress me as being worth that money.

This might sound crazy, but maybe he builds them. His feedback shows that he bought two similarly looking blanks for the cues, and about a month later after buying each blank, he sells the cue.

Chop, you thought the first one was an import. Same with this one?

I don't even think I want to guess on this one. I really don't know what the heck it is. But it does not impress me as something "special"...though I could be wrong.

I was unsure. Joint was what made me curious. Points looked off. I thought about bidding but decided against it. I believe I made the right choice.

I think you nailed it!!! This guy has a scam going. Here is a pic of the ebony blank and the cue he made with it. Evidently he never learned the lesson about not shitting where you eat.

I think the cue looks amazing. If he did make it, I'd like one. Milk white delrin, old brown bumper and held in with an Allen head screw. Just classy. I was watching it, but it went from 300 to 636 in the last 10 minutes. It also looked like it had black cortland. Three rolls of black #9 sold on eBay in the last 6 months for 52$. I lost that auction. I think either classic cues or cue addicts picked them up as one of them had them for sale at $150 a roll not too long ago.

It is a cool cue.

Cortland? It would be surprising to see Cortland used on a "no name" cue.

It's among the most expensive wraps there is...

I just think its bad business to advertise it as "vintage" if it's brand new.

Indeed. That term is abused a great deal, it certainly is ambiguous isn't it?

What exactly is a "vintage" cue?

It really does not mean what many want it to mean anyway, it's just a word that sounds good in a for sale ad.

The word vintage is definitely used in many different ways, more often than not when a seller wants to promote something in an appealing way whether its factual or not. If people would include the words style, reproduction or even looking it would make more sense most of the time. A lot of people think of vintage as they would antique or from a different era, its done with clothing to no end. I think of it a lot as being a characteristic of something and not necessarily having to do with age, like when you look at a pre-date SW and you say the wide ring in the buttsleeve and six veneered points is vintage SW or when Ali used to rope-a-dope his opponents people would say thats vintage Ali....
