Accomplished my Goal

Well lately I have been playing a good deal of that game six pocket and running into the 100s to 120s. I have worked on my mechanics a little bit and am playing better then I ever have so I thought why not play some straight pool, the last time I practiced it was many months ago. I have been getting some good table time in here and there at Best Billiards in Vegas on one of their Diamond tables.

I ran a 35 out of the gate which was a tie with for my high run, I played the rack the way I thought I was supposed to. I could have taken some easy shots and got over 40 but I needed to deal with trouble balls which got me in trouble with no shot. I was discouraged but felt I was playing okay for my 14.1 experience which is really none so I went at it again.

Right when I was about to give up and said last try I ran 41. I scratched on ball 42 which I made but got a bad roll when I went into a ball lightly that I was moving into a break ball position and the cue ball went into the side at a sharp angle. I felt that if I did not scratch I might have ran over 50 or who knows where it would lead. Either way I am happy that I accomplished my goal of getting over 40 balls, now my new goal is 50.

Good job, with your pool skills 50+ is just around the corner and 100 is not out of the question if you stick with it for a while.

Great Job Lenny!

Agree with Bill. I m sure that you are a very consistant shotmaker-and don t have any problems with making balls. And to play the right way is more important than just making some balls to just *break your personal best*. This will result in MUCH higher runs later :-)
Remembering here a student who missed 3-4 times on 93-95 inbetween 4 months......but he was *resistant* of just making the balls, just to make that *f...ng* 100.
He made it later- and is still happy about the way he made it and finally reached it.

GoGo- i m sure the 50 will be there in no time :-)

Thanks guys, I am going to get it I am sure, my game is improving. It would help me if I played 14.1 more than once a year for 2 hours.

Lenny, I was at best billiards a few weeks ago and noticed 2 guys playing straight to 150, I was pleasantly surprised to see people playing the game. Congrats on your run, 41 is impressive to me on those tables

I agree! Nice job, Lenny. A 41 so quick means 50 is literally waiting for you at your next visit to the table.

Careful though -- this game (and the pursuit to best your high runs) is addictive! :D
