TAR 31 Podcast w/Shane and Mike+Guest Host Jennifer Barretta 9PM Tonight. Questions?

The podcast started off kind of wonky but when the players started horsing around on the table it was fun to watch. I thought their comments on how much they practice were interesting. Mike pretty much said he doesn't like to practice and plays once a week. Shane on the other hand is the Vijay Singh of pro pool. Then of course Dechaine says Shane practices so much "because he has to". Good stuff.

Shane, when you travel over seas to play, are your matches already set up or do you and your backer just get there and let the word get out that you are there and looking for action.

Reading comprehension fail...

Ask them how they feel about Justin trash talking Earl Strickland behind his back on a public forum because acording to him ...

...instead of telling Earl himself face to face like real men do, then keeping his opinion to himself ? How do they feel about working with someone that is just as likely to do the same thing to them if he decides that he "just can't handle the drama", or if he decides that they just aren't trying hard enough to win. Or any other B.S. reason he may come up with. Ask them if they think that supporting this type of behavior is really "Good for Pool."

Just Curious............."Home Skillet"

Yes. Because I have a reputation for not telling people what I think face to face because I am not a "real man".

You got me.

JCIN, I'm asking this before the match starts tonight, will the game of that same day keep on rolling on the ppv until the start of the next day/session? Because when the game will start its already 4:00am where I live, so I don't think I can stay up all night and until the morning, just asking so if that it will keep rolling ill buy the full package

For all 3 players........

1. What opponent in your career surprised you the most when you matched up against them? As in, you didn't realize they had THAT high of a gear? This could be in action or a tournament.

2. What's the biggest mistake you see amateurs make? As is the ones that really love pool and are trying to get better......not just a banger. Is it a particular fundamental flaw (ie. bridge, grip, stance, etc.) or something mental?

3. How many hours a day, week and month do you spend purely practicing? Whether it be straight drills or just rolling balls out on the table and working on certain things by yourself.

4. What do they think it will take for there to be a true, viable men's tour? And if it did happen, would they support "amateurs" playing in these tournaments, as long as they have fulfilled the qualifications for the tour.....whether it be simply buying a membership or what not? Or would they rather there be something along the lines of the PGA golf tour where only the best earn a card to play at the highest level with the best competition.

5. Kinda along the lines of the above question, but.......do they mind drawing amateurs at tournaments? I know that some pro's really don't like competing against players that are significantly less skillful. Does it throw them off their game? Basically, since those types of players tend to use erratic shot selection, speed control, etc. and it can constantly change the flow of a rack.

6. What no-longer-active player (whether it be living or dead) would they most have liked to have had the opportunity to play? And in what discipline (8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball,14.1, Banks, 1P, etc.

7. Is there a certain moment in their career, whether it be a great tournament finish/win.......or maybe an "aha" moment where they learned something.......that put the idea in their head that being a pro pool player was their calling?

8. Have you ever been hustled? Details!

All great questions!

Thanks Justin

Well Justin, U really hit the mark with the podcast last night.

Jennifer did a fine job and the guys seem to have a good time.

Interesting 2 note that Shane mentioned the fact that the smaller
pocket kept him and other players from attempting certain shots that
are normal for the Pros.

Bye the way, I have been keeping my fingers crossed since U mentioned
that U would love to have Busty and Alex play the All Around.

Keep up the fine work and I look forward to spending time with U and the crew at the Studio at one of the upcoming TAR matches real soon.

Noel

I appreciate everyones reply's and questions (even the troll in the I Hug Earl Balls tshirt) The bad news is the whole damn forum was offline last night during the podcast so I had no way to access the questions for the players. We had to wing it at the last minute and Jen took questions off a Facebook post.

The podcast is up now on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVKbOHJZ-U4&feature=youtu.be

TAR 31 starts today at 8 PM Eastern.

Yes. The days match will run on a loop until two hours before the next days play begins.

If the match ends after two days. Then both days will loop all day Sunday and Monday.

Thanks for proving my point for me.........

I'm easy to find. For you or Earl or anyone. You should try it out. Chances are pretty good I would run away screaming like a little girl when confronted with a "real man".

You know...the kind of "real man" who uses a screen name and that no one knows.

A/S/L?

I have a silly gut feeling you don't know Justin at all or else you wouldn't spew the verbal diarrhea into this thread like you just did. I could be wrong though since it is Friday.

Are you serious? When step up, and do what Justin does, and know these guys personally, then, maybe then you can complain. Until then go look in the mirror and talk to yourself, or start your own thread.

Do you remember the old commercial, when EF Hutton talks, people listen? Well Justin is the EF Hutton of pool, maybe you should listen.
