Jayson Shaw- take down the old man! Ez money!
I will even contribute 100 bucks to prize pool if this "goes down"
We get enough guys- it's a nice add on for CJ and Jason.
Pressure? On you CJ- better be practicing your kicks right now.

My 6 year old is more mature than you CJ. You're pompous, arrogant, and easy to root against. I sure hope some of these guys take you up on your "offer."
Why don't you start with jayson shaw. I'm sure his backer will play you 9 or 10 ball for any amount. He is playing anyone and everyone these days.
Good luck Lol!
classic delusion right here ppl. I love it.
Go take your meds CJ, it's almost 11.

Where is the pomposity and arrogance?

The guy related stories of his playing days. He hasn't said a bad word about any other player.

CJ isn't hard to find I am sure if Jayson wants some then they can make a game somehow.

You are really disrespectful for a new poster. Right out of the gate insulting and hammering on one of the best players in the game. Perhaps you would prefer it if Joe Nobody was here trying to teach you how to play instead of CJ.

CJ can handle himself just fine JB. Mind your own business.
And because he's a well known pro, and blatantly uses these forums to promote his videos and dvds makes him fair game for criticism.

Shaw just played in NYC area and it was clear he's willing to take on anyone. If CJ reaches out, there's a guaranteed high stakes 9 or 10 ball match-up.
But will he!?? I doubt it. Shaw will have CJ considering retirement once again.

Being new here means nothing. That the best you got JB!?

Wow, CJ actually lost his cool a little there replying to JCIN. Haven't really seen that before.
And the poor magic rack, an innocent bystander, got both barrels too.
CJ didn't I see a magic rack hanging on the wall of your pool room in the video? >_<

JCIN seems pretty sure about what happened. Maybe it sticks more in his memory cuz it was
the launch of something new and important in his life whereas to CJ it was just another stop on the road?
Anyway, guess we'll never see CJ on TAR, and that's too bad, I'd have bought it.

I do think it's kind of ridiculous, all these guys who ABSOLUTELY KNOW CJ can or can't play at a high level.
The fact is, nobody knows because he's hardly entered anything lately. Even CJ may not know for sure.
Some of the guys making these bold statements have never been in a room with CJ in their lives,
all they have is old accustats footage of him to judge by
(and that old footage shows him shooting .900+ generally).

I don't see any reason he can't play at his old speed.
He's not at an age where the eyes start to go. And he hasn't been entirely out of action.

I think that the important point is how CJ and any of his backers feel about any proposed game.

CJ is indicating he will play and stated his conditions which aren't out of line considering the conversation with people saying he has NO CHANCE against any current players. With that in mind then it's perfectly logical for him to pick five of ten names and play them all 20k sets back to back. And then to say he will pick one of the remaining five and play a race to 100 for all the cheddar right after the that is pretty damn strong.

Unless there is some of collective fear I don't see why a corporation isn't being formed right now to take CJ up on it. Even if he "gets lucky" to beat one or two of these guys that he supposedly has no chance against then he still has to get through four more of them.

I don't know, me I take someone seriously that beat Efren in Efren's prime and who beat Johnny Archer in Johnny's prime. Buddy Hall won the US open at 50. Mike Lebron was older than that when he won.

No one thought Earl would beat Shane at any game on any table. Even one of Earl's biggest fans said he would eat his own underwear if Earl won and we are still waiting for that one to be paid off. :-)

McCready, supposedly washed, up finished third at the Open a couple years ago.

Here is the thing, you're right, no one REALLY knows what CJ can do because he flew under the radar for a long time and then jumped out on tour with some impressive wins and then got pissed and started his own association and then retired from competition to run his poolrooms and clubs.

But let's all be real, beating Efren at a time when Efren was beating everyone else, beating Johnny solidly for two days on different tables, giving up weight to other top players and winning.....this guy could really play. Can he still play at that level? I don't see why not. He seems to have the skills, seems to have the desire, seems to have the money to back up his challenges.

I would never take a guy lightly who has those notches in his cue. Everyone who gambles knows what a flashback is and there is no reason to suppose that a dedicated CJ can't have one or even time travel to put himself back into his old form.

I was there, it was the 3k ring game I said didn't happen with me. I paid $100. (I think) and played in some ring game tournament but there was no streaming video that I can remember, it was a bar table event. It would be hard to imagine there was streaming video at that tournament, there were no rules, it was just "honest effort" kicking at everything. It was the stupidest format I've ever seen, without a doubt.

So you have had a grudge against me for 7 years because you say you ask me to play on your streaming and I ask for money? So, it's your position that when you ask someone to do something for you they either do it or "else" you burn with bitterness for infinity?

That sounds like a healthy way to live.

As far as I know we've never even met and I have no idea how you play pool. Were you in the tournament, or do you even play pool?

"You got a phone call?" Yes, prove I played in a 3k entree fee tournament.....prove you are telling the truth and this grudge isn't really over a girl. I heard you have a girl you liked at the tournament and she dumped on you, and I assure you I had nothing to do with that girl.

If I paid 3k for a pool tournament I would remember. I remember winning 5k gambling and I was over 4k winner for the trip, it's impossible that I lost 3k in the tournament like you say I did. That's bogus.

You need to mature and grow up and treat business with more dignity if you ever want to succeed at any level. I've not ask you for anything and would have gladly helped you succeed if possible. I guess you can do it by yourself with the magic rack gaff. 'The Rack is the Teacher'

First I never said you played in in anything. I said you were there and you acted like a d!ck. A big enough d!ck that it stuck with me over the years. You went from "couldnt of been me" to "well I was there but I played in a $100 event". You were there. You were a d!ck. Over the years lots of people have wanted money to play on a stream or refused to play. Its no sweat. I understand. You acted like we were robbing someone. No one even asked you to play on the stream. You saw cameras and went all jailhouse lawyer.

As to being jealous over a chick? I gotta say that made me laugh. First I dont fool around with chicks that have any interest in dudes from their fathers generation. Second I doubt there has been too many chicks ever walk in Shooters in Olathe I would sweat over. I'm pretty picky CJ and I don't worry very much about what women in pool rooms do.

The rest of your post is just you throwing some shit against the wall to see if it sticks. I dont have a grudge. I just remember when someone acts like a jerk and choose not to work to put money in that persons pocket.

The gator jacket is the teacher.

We disagree a lot but I have always respected your experience in the industry and the game. In all those years of experience have you ever seen anything to make you think the above situation has even the remotest chance at all of ever happening?

Might as well say "Dig up Mosconi and I'll play him some". They both have the same basis in reality.

I sure am being made out to be a "bad guy".....hmmm, interesting, very interesting....

FROM POST # 86 - My First Response ABout your "BAR TABLE RING GAME ALLEGATIONS"

I have never and will never played in a ring game for 3k, so it definitely couldn't have been me. I'm not sure why you don't like me, and it's none of my business, we met one time as far as I can remember and I heard you were around Indiana, but we've never had any business dealings.

The only time I was at Dan Tull's place was to play in some kind of a bar table ring game format on BarTables, but I was there for the action and went out "peacefully" in the tournament (I was with Big John, he doesn't like me winning tournament matches so he "sharks me").

You sure you use "dick" a lot over something that happened 7 years ago...hmmm, do I make you feel that "brutal" inside?....interesting, very interesting.......I retract the statement about any "girl". You are very sick and need psychiatric care, this is an embarrassment to this Forum, TAR, Mark G., Jerry, Mike, Mr. Wilson and everyone else involved. This type of bitterness and resentment is disturbing on a level far beyond just "woofing" or "friendly banter". I would recommend seeking professional counselling before you harm yourself or others.

I doubt it but the challenge is in the public space. What I meant I guess is that from CJ's side of it if a group of backers got together to call him on it then we would see. Of course knowing how hard is is for you get matches of the two-man entry variety going this past year or so it's a virtual lock that CJ's challenge won't be met even if he posts the whole amount.

Buddy told me something similar once when we were out to lunch together. He said that at one time he told Parica, Efren and Busty that all three of them could get played for 10k per set with the stipulation that all three of them must play one after the other. Almost no need to say that this never came off.

I think we both know that if anyone makes a list of top US players that the bottom five probably can't get staked to play CJ for any significant amount on a 5x10. Anyway, this is really all barking and conjecture. If CJ wants to get it on then he knows how to make the games happen.

I wish Orrin could of seen the influence he had on the life of a 7 year old boy

My day yesterday had some unusual moments, reminiscing over some friends I went to grade school school with. One was the sister of the friend, Rod Dixon, that accompanied me to experience my first pool room - downtown in a small town called Green City Missouri.

We were all in first grade and we were talking at school about this place where we could play a game called "pool". I had seen the game on TV's Wide World of Sports with players like Lassiter, Fats, Mosconi and Hopkins was even coming on the scene. Those shows were really well done and the characters of Minnesota Fats and Willie Mosconi were fascinating to me.

We agreed to go there after school and a group of us walked the 4 or 5 blocks from the school to the town square. The square was as you would imagine with a variety of stores - grocery, clothing, 10 Cent, Cafe, City Hall, Plumbing and Electric and a Bank (among others).

We went into the Pool Room and was immediately over whelmed with an aroma that became deeply embedded in my psyche, the mixture of cigarette smoke, burning fire wood, and I could see traces of spilled sodas, and chewing tobacco all part of the deeply stained wooden floors.

Looking back it was a very small place with only three tables, however at age 7 it seemed huge with a wide range of sights, unfamiliar sounds, which triggered a sensation of infinite possibilities. I believe it was "love at first sight" while looking at the first table with it's red cloth, array of scattered billiard balls, down to the older Brunswick with it's blue cloth and further to the end table{by the wood burning stove} with it's pale green cloth faintly visible over the side rails. My mind absorbed all the new information quickly, and it seemed strangely familiar, of course it was just my imagination.

I'm not sure if I believe in destiny or not. At times life seems to make sense and then suddenly things change and it makes me wonder what's in store. If anything was meant to be in my life it was my relationship with that game.......that mysterious "pool game" with it's infinite possibilities - which would take me on a journey that always had something to do with that game, that same game from Orrin Cleeton's little Pool Room in Green City Missouri. RIP Orrin,

I wish Orrin could of seen the influence he had on the life of a 7 year old that came into your business over 40 years ago, just passing time with his friends from school. And although I had some excellent teachers at school, my most influential teacher and teachings would come through the Game.

I can't help but wonder what would have happened {to me} if there was no 'Cleeton's Pool Hall', I'll never know so I believe it was just "meant to be," like in the Pool Game - all things connect at the deepest level - timing is perfect, timing is everything, therefore everything seeks perfection with {Spiritual} "eyes that can see," and "ears that can hear". Here we have the Mosconi Cup Captain and one of the TAR owners in a flame war over some pretty inconsequential stuff. It's a negative rather than a positve for the game. Even Don King and Bob Arum did business together (I think). How about using a touch of discretion (TOD) and try to put the past where it belongs. Just a suggestion....The Game is the Winner

No kidding, I can't even remember what he's referring to, so it's certainly in the past for me.

I'm being accused of not telling the truth, not being able to play now, or ever, being a "dick", "selling nonsense", attacking other members, etc.

I'm not sure how long the moderators are going to allow this, I guess until someone gets seriously hurt or worse (psycho stuff). All because I'm introducing the TOUCH OF INSIDE pool system to the general public.....this is the root of all of this, how utterly amazing and ironic is this? It's like an episode out of the 'Twilight Zone"....and it's real. 'The Game is the Teacher of Some Unusual Things These Days'

Yes CJ. I am the one with psychiatric issues in this thread.

But who could I harm? I don't know karate.

I'll share a little secret with you big guy....your crazy is starting to show. Be careful you don't want to scare the fish.

You decide what's best for you, I told you what I'm going to do. Peace Be With You

Do you want to forgive and forget or not? The Ball's in your court, I know how devastating grudges can be, I will pray for you no matter what. Not to "help you," it's to "help me," because I know it's unhealthy to live with grudges.

They say holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other guy to die. This is no good for either one of us. I don't know you, and can wipe the slate clean and introduce myself at the trade show, or in Las Vegas. You decide what's best for you, I told you what I'm going to do. Peace Be With You

I love a good barkfest, believe me. It's fun. This thread, though, has kind of taken some twists and turns.

At the 2003 Carolinas Open, two guys from Florida -- and I'm going to find their names later, as now I'm curious -- got drunk one evening during the week-long tournament. They were barking at everybody with a pocket full of money, wanting to get in action. They were so drunk that they barked at one of the owners of the pool room, Gene Hooker. Big mistake!

The bouncers and a couple regulars, about six of them, drug these two young Florida boys outside in front of the pool room and proceeded to beat the crap out of them, kicking them, punching them, breaking their jaws, teeth, everything. What was disgusting to me was that these bouncers, et al., seemed to enjoy it, laughing and giving each other high-fives after they came back in.

The gang mentality of this thread is sad. C.J. has pride and ego, like any champion pool player does, and he's not drunk. I believe he deserves a modicum of respect. He's not going to stand by and get verbally kicked and punched by a gang of forum buddies playing tag team.

I am reminded of a quote from "Voice of Reason," a well-known player from my area. He still plays and is well respected by all who know him:

I believe that after we are gone from this world all we take with us is the reputation we leave behind. After all, we all want to win. Play hard, but play fair and respectful.

C.J. may get the last laugh, but I hope he quits posting in this thread, licks his wounds, and moves on to greener pastures. The best revenge for him at this juncture will be when he wins. ;)

CJ I just have no desire to work with you which is what this thread is about. I care as much about what you do as you do about what I do. I have no problem talking to you in person and I will shake your hand say hello then be about my business. End of the day it's not that big of a deal.

There are at least as many people defending CJ and "attacking" any naysayers (look at some of the posts in this thread aimed at or about Lou Figueroa) as there are criticising him. Let's not pretend that CJ is in any way a victim here.

That's honorable.

That's honorable. I'll continue to wish you and yours the best. I do care what you do, to me we're on one team, whether Realized or not, and if I can benefit what you're doing, please feel free to ask at anytime, on any day.

I will continue to do what I believe will help the Game, maybe one day we'll "meet in the middle".

Aloha,
