Most beautiful cue you ever saw?

I think this probably belongs in another section. I can't narrow it down to one, but a Ron Haley and a Carmelli come to mind....

hmmm, tricky in a way. But for me it´s the ones I have taken part in, choosing woods, veneers, designs, the work with the cm etc - a good looking cue is more than looks imo, it´s the "hole enchilada" sort of speak.

I sure do love those nice inlaid ones like the Dragon cue from Mike Lambros, the Manzino cue, Black Boars, Searing, T Wayne, JMW, Black, Zinzola in his later cues, Szamboti etc but it can just be a nice 4p bumperless hoppe also.

I love to look at cues and I appreciate the Art work in them but the beauty for is also in the way they play.

So if I ever decide to get a very, very pricy cue (pricy I have...:rolleyes:) it has to play good also. Why settle for anything less when there is CM´s that can do it all imo.

I have cues coming from Rick at Esoteric, K Murrell, T Zinzola, M Lambros, J Pierce, Doug - Patrick cue, Paul Dayton, Ronnie Powell, M Webb, A recently started (in my head) a Masse cue from Brent BHQ, a Jeff Olney - Did I miss any???...

Most of theese cues are already treasured by me, I have been there to pick the woods out, picked the CM out, colors, mails, phone calls .....etc etc.
All of them will have the specs of my wishes to them and that is a beautiful thing imo - they are custom cues right?!:smile:.

Next week I will get a cue from Rick and this has ton of good vibes in it and I will only play with this for a while. I´m thinning out my heard of cues and will only keep those who are special for me and that has the looks and the specs that I want. I have sold some very special cues to me but only to people I know will take care of them. CM´s, cues, the game itself has giving me a lot and still does - it´s a journey for me and there will always be another level - evolution:smile:.

So I guess I want to say that the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder and that beauty has many faces.

Thanks to all my good friends that makes my life of cues etc so fantastic fun and enjoying -it is and it has been a good time:smile:

Chrippa "that is soon going to beat the ghost playing 12 ball using T.O.I:smile:", I will do it with Ricks cue. How about that, 12 ball with Ricks cue and the 13 balls with............. It´s not a wish or a guess, - it´s a promise, only time will tell when:wink:

Arthur Cues of Germany, The Katana. Currently owned by Cornerstone Cues unless they sold it. I LOVE that cue, it is sheer perfection for my tastes. If I had the scratch to buy it I would never shoot with another cue, no matter how it shot. Close second would be the Arthur Cues Pharaoh Cue. There are certain cue makers whom I absolutely love their work, and will own someday, but Marcus Dienst of Arthur Cues just seems to build cues that sing to me.

Concertina, 2010 cue of the year by Pete Tonkin is my all time favorite as well a native american themed cue that Pete did with red coral, ivory and turquoise:

Yes, Pete Tonkin is doing some very nice cues indeed. I also think Ernie has a great taste in design.

After seeing it for the first time some 13 or so years ago, I still feel that Rick G's big CP is the best looking cue I've ever seen. (far one on left.....borrowed pics)

I would have to say, for my tastes one particular hickory burl cue made by Eric Crisp, Sugartree Cues. I don't have a pic or a name but really any he turned from this awesome wood would be at the top of my list.

In my opinion he did (and still can) select and acquire the most phenomenal examples of exotic woods from burls to blanks that show the epitome of a particular wood's figure, color and chatoyancy and then combines these beauties in some of the most creative and artistic ways to showcase the natural beauty of the wood itself. His micro rings add an intricate and classy touch that on their own are works of art and a testament to his skill as an artist and craftsman yet they compliment the other elements of the cue and do not overshadow or compete for the attention of your eye.

His use of tusk, horn and other natural materials bring together the sum of his cue's parts in such a way that his theme of naturally understated elegance garners the attention of most all that see his cues and captivates their audience by revealing little by little subtle details in the wood not seen in a glance or 50 as well as nuances born of Eric's imagination and made real by his hands.

If you can't tell I love this man's work and hope someday he returns to what I would judge as his true calling.

Many years ago at one of the BCA Trade shows. Was K.C, Nashville or Louisville,, not sure.

South West - Ebony, pink ivory wood and ivory.... those 3 colors really stood out against each other.... still wishing I had the cash to buy it back then.
 
I just never think of a cue as being beautiful. They all are something to play with... no more/no less. With that said, the most appealing cue to me was the Thomas Wayne Lone Star Beer themed cue he made several years ago.
