Where I live we have a local Used Web Site like Kijiji or Craigs list.

I noticed that there was an ad under Billiards for some pool cues. I called the guy and this is what he told me. Apparently his Grandfather had owned a pool room in a small town and when it closed down, his Grandfather had kept many of his supplies.

When his Grandfather had passed, he inherited all the pool room left overs and put them in his basement. Now that he is moving, he wanted to get rid of them.

So I drive over to his place and the shows me to the basement and into a small storage room. I just about died. There were Titlist cues, BBCs and Tru Balance cues. He said his Grandfather was a bit of a hoarder. On a shelf, there were also 20 boxes of 12 Brunswick KU bumpers (The brown ones), unopened.

I got the entire deal for $400.

The total came to 40 Titlist cues
20 BBCs
and 10 Tru Balance

Kind of made my day.

Then, when I was carrying them into my house, I slipped on some ice and pulled my leg. Crap, now I'm laid up for the rest of the day at least.
 
WOWOW Congrats! I'm glad it went to someone who has a clue. Now, how much is a titlist gonna cost me? ;)
 
Crap, i guess you got me, I just figured out what today is. Nice job! Now I gotta find something to get this damn hook out!

But, this has been mine, as I am sure everyone elses private dream too.

No such luck. I would like a Titlist for conversion and will have to but one like everyone else.

My PM box did fill up pretty quick tho.

Terry, I was calling BS by the second line.

I am sure there are a few dozen Titlist pilled in a corner somewhere.

Until they are found the few remaining that are straight should be left uncut. Like this one of mine.Just a light refinish, original buckhorn ferrule.

About 10 years ago I went with a friend to recover a table at this very wealthy couples home just outside of Waco, tx. Upon arrival, we unload our tools and head into the billiards room that was 2500 sq feet. On the wall was 4 brunswick wall rack with 12 brand new titlist per rack. 90% of them had never been chalked. In the store room was another 2 dozen brand new ones most ebony. they had 5 or six that were either broken or missing tips. The wife would not come off a one of them. Not a single one. After practically begging, i was able to trade her for one of the broken ones which was a rosewood titlist. I had jim buss convert it for me a few years ago. This is a true store, no april fools. This house will be forever on my list and hopes that they will have an estates sale. Oh I forgot to mention the ivory titlist buska in original case the hubby had leaning against the wall. This still makes me sick to my stomach just telling this story again. This is a very true story.

I was thinking...well its either April fools or April Drools in this thread. Sorry it wasnt the latter for ya. That would have been the epic score of the year.
 
Oh well, dreams don't cost anything, most days.

I think I ended up April fooling my in box more than anything. Really, I didn't get that many. If I had ended up with 40 Titlists, I would have parted with a few of them to the guys who sent me a message anyway. If it ever happens, you guys are on my list.

I have a couple of BBCs that Lee Pepper sold me. They play great but would still love to have a Titlist conversion some day.

I know a local whos Father ran a room for years. When the room closed, his son and a friend cleaned the room out of cues. The guy told me that I was welcome to come over some time and that he wasn't interested in any of them beyond maybe getting one of them converted.

I do have my fingers crossed that there may be a Titlist in the pile. If not, I bet there are nice Duffs in there and they make good conversions as well. Its just the time period of when the room was open that makes me hopeful. Approx 30 years ago.

Growing up on the Flat Lands every town no matter how big or small had at least one hall. They're all gone now but I can't help but think that at one time, they had a lot of Brunswicks. To think the unthinkable that these were made into pretty tomato stakes or fire wood.

I have put many ads in our local Used Web Site in hope that someone has some cues in their attic but no luck so far.

OK, most of you guys know that I can take a joke as well as hand them out. I'm ready.

Yeah, just made me a little sick too.

Imagine that estate sale! There are sure to be sone amazing ones in the future. I think a lot of great items are bought by people who dont have a clue either

I saw a1960's Ginacue that had sold in an online auction house a month prior for under 200.This was when an ivory 8 pointer was on, but half the world found that one, it sold for $4,400 with a major issue. Thankfully I was outbid.
 
Terry you had me going. this is the kind of thing that makes me want to invade Canada.
Now if i can just find my old flint lock rifle I'm coming and a compass.
 
Better bring more than a flint lock. We have upgraded to the Lee Enfield single shot rifles.

And canoes. We just got 10 new canoes. Hint, don't attack from the water Bruce.
