The main question I have is...if they were the best cues you ever had, why don't you still have them?

To me its my Gus Szamboti. I am sure though as my skillset increases the cue make will become less important. Case in point, I have read many claims recently about this guy being the best on the planet, most precise, etc.. or this guy that made less than 100 cues but can't install a leather wrap?? being the best hitter.. really? So the list of "pros" that are waiting for these cues must be insane.. no wonder you can't get one. :wink:

I plan on playing with a few different cues over the next few months. Will any become regulars? We'll see.. I hope so. I have a monster coming and its coming from someone that I am proud to call a friend, let alone my preferred cuemaker.

What's your choice?

I would have say an ebony Coker I had.

Totally regret selling that cue. Geesh, I wish I had it back.

The best hitting cue for me is a Mike Gulyassy cue, I still use it today since 2005, I owned different cues from him but they are all the same. Same interior design and weight balance, just a little different color in the outside. Not to mention that his cues are reasonable when it comes to price which is a plus. Also time of production is really good.

so yeah, Mike Gulyassy+++

It's tough to say, but if I got rid of everything and kept only, it would be a Huebler US Open Custom Shop. It shoots as good as anything I have tried.

It it couldn't keep a Huebler, it would be a 4 point Nitti.

My favorite Huebler, and one of the best looking cues ever made IMO.

Did I mention I REALLY like that cue?

have owned many high end cues and this cue hits the best among them all.

I was lucky enough to own a Gus Szamboti from 1985-2000. Bought it pre owned from a guy for $800 back then. Sold it in 2000 for $3000 when I needed the cash. :(

That was by far the sweetest cue I ever hit a ball with, I swear it had a mind of it's own and knew just what to do. I wish somebody would have smacked some sense into me and told me not to let it go back then, but I was not playing at the time and it seemed like the thing to do.....

Hindsight is surely 20/20 vision!
