Just wandering into to my local room for Tuesday night league and see 'dis guy walking out the door, case in hand. Hate I didn't get a chance to see him hitting any balls.

Anybody know how he hits em?

Said he was in town shooting a movie. I didn't ask which one....didn't want to upset "Paulie"

Maybe he heard that Henry Hill was moved to Charlotte by the FBI in the witness protection program.
He looks pretty good considering all those years spent in the joint>>

Looks just like Paul Sorvino......hmmmmmmm.

Is he reaching for a gat??? I'd have thrown the phone/camera down and RAN!!!:embarrassed2:

Maniac (not takin' no chances)

I don't know how he plays but he bought some pool collectables from me on ebay. He likes pool a lot from what I grasp.

Was in goodfellas and some other movies.

I heard he plays pretty good, shoots at Amsterdam in the city. Grapevine tells me he's a B player.

He was great in Goodfellas. "Now I gotta turn my back on ya"

One of my all time favorites.

Paul Sorvino has done more for the image of pool than you may know. For many years he ran a celebrity pro-am tourney that raised quite a bit of money for his Asthma Foundation.

According to his friend Charlie Ursiiti Mr. Sorvino does a lot of positive work for our society and usually stays in the background while he does it so he is not seeking any personal glory or gain.

I was a reporter at one of his events and he was very down to earth. No haughty attitude, easy to be around and quick to smile.

I've heard he plays real strong. Not sure if he still does but he did.

I used to see him quite a bit at Amsterdam Billiards over the years. I'd say he's about a C-level player. He's also very approachable; really enjoys signing autographs.

My favorite story happened about 6 years ago. It was a crowded night at Amsterdam Billiards and I was impatiently waiting for a table. Sorvino was playing on the head-table with this really expensive Meucci. He looks at me and says, "What do you think?" I replied, "That's a nice cue." He reiterates his question, "I mean, what do you think of my game?" I replied again, "That's a REALLY nice cue" and smiled.

sure

If I ever go to the joint (God forbid), I would like to spend it the way he did; with a regular shipment of lobsters, steaks, wine, and pasta. He had this ingenious way of slicing garlic very thin with a razor blade.

I knew a guy who fired an air-barrel at him......

...I haven't seen him around for quite some time.....

LOL...funny story, Jude.

C level ain't too bad for a movie star. Hell, I probably play way more than him and I'm probably considered a C player too. Tells you how bad I suck...haha

Back in about 1999 - 2001

I heard he plays pretty good, shoots at Amsterdam in the city. Grapevine tells me he's a B player.

When he played at the old Amsterdam on 86th downstairs around 99-2001 before they moved downtown where they are now he was a solid B player..might be a C now..no idea, but he was prob the best celebrity pool player around at that time. Also he was in a lot of pro-am or charity type of matches held in Manhattan when he wasn't working..he loved the game and loved to promote it and had a good time with any spectators watching..great guy.
