Early TAD?

It appears to be an early Adam blank.

TAD loved Adam's work. He thought (and rightly so) the the best quality Titlists (ducking my head from purist attacks) came from Adam.

Thanks man, I assume you agree its an Adam case ?

Yes, I agree.

On the subject of the other Tad on eBay, besides having two shafts, it also has five veneers.

Yeah, I think more of the 3500 won't sell 2 shaft one. I think that was also Bill's point in using it as comparison for the pricing of the one now available.

No one here is selling this cue.

No one here is selling this cue. I see its a popular thread but this should be moved elsewhere. Let people who are actually selling cues to have them be seen, on the first or even the fifth page for that matter, for more than five minutes. I for one am not a big fan of the ebay link. If you wanna sell on another site then do so. Just my opinion. But as long as Im here...check these out.

Bumpage

I may be out of line but 65 bumps (comments) in 24 hours, every bodys complaining about over bumping lol 5 pages

65 bumps in 24-hours definitely exceeds the 48-hour anti-bumping policy

This should probably be moved to the main forum, But it's so reminiscent of the "good old days" of AZB discussions that it has been kind of refreshing.

Yup too much info here. Lets get back to pimping Zylers!

Thanks for your input man.

I know just a little about a little.

And when threads pop up like this one containing such *great* information, I get to expand some of what I know. And as that frightening woman who just went on match.com says, "that's a good thing." :D

However, I am also a vocal proponent of keeping our forum free from rules violations that make it unfair for those trying to sell and buy here.

So, I'm torn.

I will bow out and say thanks for letting me learn a little more about TAD cues (pins, veneers, shafts, bumpers), as well as Adam vs. Martin cases.

Another observation is that it seems this kvinbrwr fellow is smack-dab in the middle of many of these discussions (the "refreshing" old times ones Jayman references) featuring old Martins, TADs, Ginas, Palmers and the like.

And I'm absorbing whatever I can. :)

best,
brian kc <----- would rather twenty of these threads than one of the seemingly endless number of nonsensical ones that permeate this forum.

Do me a favor. Instead of complaining in this thread and promoting the bumping you are concerned about, why not report the thread to the mods and maybe they will delete it? The damage is done, but I'm still a player at the price the cue is presently bid to and this thread going away wouldn't be that bad a deal for me.

Thanks

Kevin

Brian

I learned almost everything I know about cues (as little or much as that may be) in AZ For Sale threads in the "old days" (the rest I learned from Tate). But, be that as it may, I think the thread is in violation of AZ rules and maybe even has some civil and human right violations, so I'm all for deleting it (besides the cue is way overvalued already so no sense it watching it anymore). Lets put this baby to bed and get back to some production cues with minor taper roll.

Thanks

Kevin

I had a bump on my a** once if anyone cares.:p its gone now....

LOL LOL LOL

This whole time I've been talking this beauty of a TAD down, I've been remembering you trash-talking my Gus box cue for the entire week it was discussed here at AZ. That didn't really work that well either.

Thanks for the laugh (and I'm glad that bump is gone)

Kevin

To all you TAD experts: I see that the boxes in the butt sleeve are mitered joints. I only recall the veneers being stacked.

i have a Tad older than this with veneer boxes and im 55% sure they are stacked, problem is i wont be able to see the cue for a month or longer its in the Vault, i'm in Europe.

i dont doubt the age of the cue it has the patina of a very old cue, Ariel didnt make this cue, i'm sure of that, and thats easy to figure out ask him, he is a nice guy as we ll know.

It appears to be an early Adam blank.

i agree with that,

the bumper i cant recall if its 80's or pre 80's.

I have over a dozen Tads from late 60's to current and if I was in the States I'd go fetch them and dissect this whole discussion.

I dont think the initials in the butt cap have a huge impact on the value due to its age, if it was a 3 year old Szam then yeah its a problem, but with vintage cues, i havent seen big price descreptinces because of cosmetic things like that, the funny looking veneer below the one box is more of a concern to me.

I would disagree on several issues.

There are several cuemakers that could repair any issues. There are a lot of folks who speak like experts and I suggest they aren't.

To me the veneers are poor quality.

This cue isn't going to worth a ton, and I suggest most are playing parlor games.

The nit isn't going to sell it for what it is worth, thinking it is worth a fortune.

Hopefully he gets what he wants and everyone will be happy....

Kevin,

my a** bump, LOL<----glad I could make you smile, thats what its all about sometimes. were here for a good time, not a long time. nice to have something to lighten the mood.

I must have really had a bump on my head, first off-i apologize if i trash talked one of your cues, and 2nd you sue i was me taking trash a Gus? wow that dont sound like me. i'm very sorry. And It will never happen again. I mean that!

Also I have ALWAYS respected your knowledge of Ebay. Why do you think this person is a bad seller? Or is i miss understand you? I am pretty lame when it comes to Ebay.

this is a good thread cause people(AZB members), including me are learning-rules or not, this is good dialog with a bit of humor, IMO the perfect thread in general terms.

also the pic of the butt of Roger SLT City Tad looks VERY similar to one of mine, sometime now that i'm in LA your more than welcome to come over and see the Cues, I need a couple days notice to go get them from the vault is all.

FWIW if this Tad is what it says it is my top number was $2750 in current condition, $2500 is the rite number and a dime is stealing it.

kindest regards
eric:smile:

again i'm sorry, i dont recall the Szam incident at all. wont happen again.

Its already at 1800 and climbing.

I agree with your numbers.

I don't think the guy is a bad seller, I was just trying to talk people out of bidding because I like the cue (although not as much now as the case is cool but not ultra).

I wasn't complaining about your treatment of me, you've always been fine to me. You were feigning disinterest (as a decoy maneuver) in a Gus cue I had for auction once and you were, in fact, interested. Much like me and this Tad.

Hope you are well,

Kevin
