Strickland vs Jeremy Jones coming up!

Earl could make or break bonus ball, He could be the reason a network would air it, OR, he could turn everyone against it.
My guess is Earl will get kicked to the curb before this whole thing is over.

it's better than two robots playing "mum & emotionless pool".

yes i saw a invited guy go outside, he did as well as you would against me(playin pool) if i played one handed and you played 2 handed, it was fast and painful for the guy who did the inviting. lesson learned don't invite people outside.

Yeah, that's something that should have been staged, not for real. Again, this is not the ideal direction for a pool match to go, but it's better than two robots playing "mum & emotionless pool". :groucho:

Jeremy Jones was a sore loser and in the wrong. He initiated the entire fiasco.

Of course, people from Texas can do no wrong on AzBilliards, so I'm sure the multiple-identitied members, trolls, and relatives of Jeremy Jones will slam me for my opinion.

Jeremy should have taken the loss like a professional, without discourse in front of the cameras. It only hurts for a little bit when you lose a pool match.

I don't blame Earl one bit for responding the way he did. Jeremy actually asked Earl to go outside. To me, that's a legal offense known as "battery." Jeremy should know better.

You are obliviously mis-informed. JJ's team won...Earl initiated it all, I was there and witnessed it. JJ was standing up for his team. Earl was talking trash to them, and yes JJ went to far by asking if he wanted to continue outside. But Earl was out of line for most of the match. Even berating some of the fans I was sitting very close to.

Thanks for the correction. I only saw the altercation on YouTube and did not see the match, as you did.

From what I saw on YouTube, it appeared that JJ initiated it by asking Earl to go outside.

You know what they say about sticks and stones, but JJ made a verbal threat. That's a no-no. I never saw Earl threaten JJ with physical violence. Of course, we can interpret "going outside" as having a cigarette, right? :)

I believe both of them should have refrained from this type of behavior in front of the cameras, but JJ should have known better than to threaten with those words.

I have had experienced some hurtful experiences in recent times on this forum from Texas members, and I'll just leave it at that.

Where I come from, though, C.J., we don't threaten people with physical violence because we will get dragged into court, and we don't deliberately, with malice aforethought, call 60-year-old women vulgar names and after the fact state it's only a word. I come from a different world, I guess, but I'd rather live in my world than the alternative.

I really think Earl will do anything to keep people talking about him. If his game can't accomplish that, then he will let his tantrums do it. I didn't watch, but this kind of drama gets people talking and draws fans, just like CJ says. It's better than robots, and shades of the the 'sport' of wresting antics. Me, I'd rather see the straight up matches like TAR does, but there may just as many who like what Bonus Ball will produce.

I don't know JJ too well, but have heard a story or two that he can get bent out of shape pretty easily.

Earl has lots of fans despite his penchant to give up on a match if a few things go against him. I've always been a fan, one reason is I met him when he was about 17 and living in Baytown, TX, so I've always pulled for him. But I can't stand it when he goes into give up mode like he does fairly often. It sucks, and it shows no heart, and it detracts from whatever legacy Earl has built. I would much rather watch a match with a player that plays his hardest, no matter what the score, to the end, and then accepts the outcome win or lose, someone like Bartrum. You don't have to be a robot, just don't be an asshole.

U are obviously in some sort of legal field and I'm not being sarcastic when I ask this(Cause I'm most definitely from TX and most definitely on the TX team that went to cyber war with u)..Is asking someone to step out side really considered a threat?Obviously if he said he was gonna beat his ass or somethin. But maybe he wanted to step outside to talk..We will never know..

C'mon, really? :p

"you wanna go outside?" has one meaning, and it isn't difficult to understand.

That's just silly.

Thanks for the inquiry asked in a polite manner. :)

If you were to put this question before a jury of their peers, what do you think the answer would be? :D

It could be viewed as a verbal assault without the battery, FWIW. Each State of the Union, however, has their own laws pertaining to this charge, which is a misdemeanor. The verbal assault is the threat of violence, and aggravated assault is a threat with the clear and present ability and willingness to carry it out.

Not sure how to judge what happened between JJ and Earl, but it was a verbal assault. It happens when players get heated up. It shouldn't have happened on camera.

Sad to say, there are people incarcerated today for crimes they did *not* commit because of careless verbal utterances said in public. It is considered evidence in some jurisdictions.

I'm particularly sensitive about this topic in because I've seen it bite people in the butt in a legal setting.

I'm hoping Jeremy wasn't intending to inflict harm on Earl, but if Earl came up dead the next day, guess who would be in the hot seat? :embarrassed2:

"Keep your friends close but your enemies closer" is my motto. I am nice to those who I consider a foe.

By the same token, hypothetically speaking, if one was to inflict bodily harm on someone, they shouldn't threaten it. That's kind of like pulling a gun out with no intention to pull the trigger.

Jeremy did what few players have done and what more players should do. He called Earl out on his bullshit.

Good on Jeremy. Jeremy doesn't cuss at his opponent while they are playing. Jeremy doesnt talk while he is shooting or while his opponent is shooting. All these things are part of Earl's standard operations these days, and it's gonna happen against the wrong opponent one day and that person won't be as gracious as asking Earl to step outside.

Sorry to add my two cents here, but the reality is that Earl is and has been certifiable for a long time. He prompts and precipitates all these encounters with his own actions. The interesting thing is that it's always involving Earl. Maybe it's just a coincidence though.
