Strickland vs Jeremy Jones coming up!

if your reading this, JJ, here are some things to consider

Earlier in the match there was an exchange and JJ handled it very well. Although I felt that he should not be responding, but rather use the referee if he thought he was being sharked, he did take the high road in the way he responded and in doing so showed up Earl by comparison.

Unfortunately, he was not able to keep to the high road and his true colors showed through. He lessened his character with that immature choice of calling for his opponent to step outside.

You will not win by letting Earl under your skin and engaging him (that is why the “just shoot, Earl” line was so effective).

JJ, Michaela Tabb showed that a good referee will control him quite nicely and that is why I suggested using the referee if you felt you were being sharked. Failing that, JJ, I suggest you watch the 10 ball match between Earl and Landon Shuffet, young Landon just may show you a more mature way to deal with Earl.

Your upcoming match should be viewed as an opportunity to re take the high road. I hope you use it.

They drop their gloves and duke it out in hockey. They clear the bench and have gang fights in baseball. This is peanuts. We need some excitement in this sport.
GOOOO EEEEARL........

First of all he told Michaela "You shut up!"and acted the jerk for a couple minutes more IIRC. Not real control imo.

Secondly even female cops get more respect from perps than men do. I've heard some even say that a few times.

Wouldn't it be nice if professionals could just shoot pool according to the rules and not have to read a handbook on "How to best handle Earl's predictable blowups".

CJ probably had the best suggestion about a code of conduct. Document what is okay and what isn't, and the penalties for each violation. Takes the subjectivity out of it, a fair bit anyway.

I have had experienced some hurtful experiences in recent times on this forum from Texas members, and I'll just leave it at that.

Where I come from, though, C.J., we don't threaten people with physical violence because we will get dragged into court, and we don't deliberately, with malice aforethought, call 60-year-old women vulgar names and after the fact state it's only a word. I come from a different world, I guess, but I'd rather live in my world than the alternative.

I'm from Tennessee not Texas, but before my wife passed away I heard her talking to a female pool player who was upset at how she had been treated and her advice was that if she wanted to be treated like a lady she should act like a lady. This might be good advice here too.

I have been around Earl for 30 years and he makes it a point to cause conflict and issues as a sharking tactic and would deserve a good slap upside the head. And as Jay says later, Earl is certifiable and by his own admission is crazy.

JJ is a super nice young man

I'm a big Earl Strickland fan except when he starts sharing his opponents. I never witnessed the match and only seen the short clip of the incident. I know Jeremy since he was a teenager learning to play and NEVER seen him get out of line with anyone, and I also think Earl and his martial arts would have about the same chance of whipping JJ as a mule has in the Kentucky Derby, lol . just my two cents.

"Keep your friends close but your enemies closer" is my motto. I am nice to those who I consider a foe.

By the same token, hypothetically speaking, if one was to inflict bodily harm on someone, they shouldn't threaten it. That's kind of like pulling a gun out with no intention to pull the trigger.

Dont pull it unless youre going to use it and dont make threats. You threaten some people you may not live long enough to make another one.

A night of tall tales begins.

Three cowboys are sitting around a campfire, out on a lonesome Texas prairie, each with the bravado for which cowboys are famous. A night of tall tales begins.

The first one says, "I must be the meanest, toughest cowboy there is. Why, just the other day a bull got loose in the corral and gored six men before I wrestled it to the ground by the horns with my bare hands."

The second cowboy can't stand to be bested. "Why that's nothing. I was walking down the trail yesterday and a fifteen-foot rattlesnake slid out from under a rock and made a move for me. I grabbed that snake with my bare hands, bit its head off and sucked the poison down in one gulp. And I'm still here today."

The third cowboy remained silent, silently stirring the coals with his hands.

Sheesh...There are some real *****s on this forum!

Assuming I can say ***** since they allow Shit.

What are you trying to say there. Tennessee?

Wow!

I guess I need to go to bed.

I apologize in advance to the mods.

Tennessee ... I think you owe JAM an apology.

Not for her reference to a thread and resultant ban of the offender, that you had nothing to do with, but because you said she needed to act more like a lady.

Sheesh.

And to think I was considering upgrading to gold. What a waste. I think I will take some time off.

But not until I remind you that most everyone here got tired of Tennessee horseshit and moved south.

You probably think Double J should be prosecuted too.

Congratulations you're my first red Rep.

Watched the video, that was funny. The guy who invited Earl outside never went outside and looks like he hasn't worked out a day in his life.

All hat, no cattle.
