Oh yeah. There was also a Family Matters episode that had pretty much the same plot. The "kid gets hustled and dad has to reveal secret pool skills to bail him out" must have been a standard 90s family sitcom trope.

Well, this thread sent my afternoon way off on a tangent.
Here's a little scene from Roseanne. There's no actual game play, but when I heard the words "step outside" and saw Dan's helmet and scarf, I was suddenly reminded of a recent incident in a professional pool league match.
