This may not be the right place to post this but oh well..
Any sellers out there, please be careful when dealing with a new AZ member, "jekka". He is new, and has been looking for a Predator P3 to buy. After going through quite a few detailed back and forth messages with him over several days, and him going from wanting my P3, to finding another one, to then again wanting mine, to then telling me I didnt get back to him within 10 minutes so hes buying another one from someone else, I just have to advise extreme caution with him.
He also just joined and has zero feedback/itrader, wants it shipped to the Ukraine, and want the declared value lower as to avoid the customs taxes/fees...
Im actually VERY happy he has found someone else to deal with, because my "Spidy senses" were tingling in a major way with this cat... At least consider using an escrow agent with him...
Just trying to look out for the community here fellers....

As for declared lower value,i always ask the same thing from the seller.
We in Croatia need to pay 25% import price...so you can understand it raise the price of the cue/case.This is nothing abnormal in my eyes....![]()

I understand the high taxes and the concept of the lower declared value, but how do you insure an item for full value,if you declare it's value as lower than the actual value? What if it gets damaged or lost? Thanks.

You can't. Most shippers will only cover up to the declared value. I understand that there are typically import/duty taxes that are involved when shipping outside to US into another country, but that is part of doing overseas business. If you're purchasing from an internet retail site, there is no getting around the duties...so why should it be any different with a private sale?
I have done business with an overseas buyer, and I did as he requested as I was told there would be no liability on my part should something happen, however....I still didn't feel comfortable about it. I stressed over it until the item had arrived safely. But it is something I will likely never do again, because now there are even more issues....involving endangered wood species and elephant ivory, to be mindful of. Just too much of a hassle, IMHO.
Thanks for the response.I recently sent 4 thousand bucks to Singapore, for 2 cues with Ivory. They were stuck in customs for app 10 days while I stressed about receiving them. When they finally arrived, they had a declared value of $200.00. NEVER AGAIN! Full insurance or escrow only. It's just too risky (for me)
BR,Marc
Most deals are done via paypal, and we all are aware that paypal sides with the buyer in almost every case I have ever seen. When you ship something with a declared value of $200, that is ALL that you are covered for as a seller (up to the declared value).
So, if you sell a $1000 cue, and declare it for the buyer as requested by him/her for $200, that is all your going to get back if something happens. If the buyer files a claim with paypal, they are going to be refunded their full payment, AND keep the cue, and all you MIGHT get back after an insurance claim is investigated is that $200....
I understand all the overseas buyers issues with their high import fees/taxes/customs or whatever. But please look at it from our perspective and try to understand the risky situation you are asking us (as a the seller) to put ourselves in....
WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!
I already explained to jekka that I am logged on 99% of the time because my phone keeps the AZ forum page open as my browsers homepage. That does not mean I am sitting at my computer 24 hours a days, waiting for a message to come in so I can hurry up and answer it! Jekka did send a message with several questions on it that were not simple one word answers, including the shipping costs to Ukraine, if I could declare the value for only $200, how well I secured Items and how exactly I did it, what I thought about G2 tips verses Moori tips, as well as a few others that I cant remember off the top of my head. Anyone who has dealt with or communicated with me before can attest that I try my best to give a complete, well thought out answer when asked a question. I feel it is only fair in any situation, especially when selling something of value.
I suppose I could have used my phone while in the middle of hosting several leagues and teams at my place last night (got there at 5pm and didnt get home until after 2am), captaining a team and keeping score, and running to another location to play an away match..? Ya, I guess I could have let him know would get back to him the next day, sure. But quite honestly, I didnt feel the need to if I was going to give a well thought out answer in the morning to all his questions. That IS NOT A LONG TIME to wait... Maybe if I wouldnt be able to get back to him for a few days or something, but NOT a few hours! Thats an absurd expectation and complete lack of patience on your part after asking SEVERAL in depth questions...
I never said he wasnt a "fair" person. I simply said to use caution when dealing with him due to the ZERO itrader rating, and the issues I mentioned and advised using an escrow. I have no Idea if you are a fair person or not, nor do I care anymore. I do however care about letting the AZ community aware of the situation and they can judge from there...
I posted this PM because Rain-Man is trying to blame me in something, that's allI always thought PM was for Private Message but you posted it making it a Public Message.....Just sayin
I find Rain Man very easy to deal with and I doubt I would sell and ship something without it fully insured.
Ron
Here is how I see things.Ok, as this post is about me, I assume that I have rights to answer)
I send my last PM to Rain-Man for all of you AZ members to clear this situation.
"Dear Rain-Man!
I was suprised by your reaction on my PM, that I sent you yesterday. I offered you a 700+ dollars deal and I was ready to send the money, but you simply wrote me nothing...Though you were online for many times and I saw it and waited for the answer. I sent you 2 more PM, but the reaction was the same. I have a big doubt, that you inquired the shipping fees all that time, because I also work in a trade company and it would take me 1 phone call to solve such a problem.
They say when you want to sell something, you sell not the item, but your attitude to the client. In that particular case your attitude didn't satisfy me )
I wish you well and best of luck in your future deals
P.S. I found a new black P3 with weight kit. And the seller sent me the invoice in 10 minutes )
Regards,
Eugene"
Now you tell me where did I go wrong?
I want to buy the cue, but the seller simply ignored me for 24 hours...while answering other threads on this forum.
I think it's not an attitude that a real buyer should receive...
Judge me )
Best regards,
Jekka
