dont flatter yourself your not a regime
Actually I was talking about Accu-Stats and Derby/Tunica.
Thanks for admitting publicly you are a piece of shit thief though.

I presume they did not want to lose their points on the Bonus Ball league, so they elected to not show up. That was why the Bonus Ball scheduling, or re-scheduling, if you will, was a topic of discussion a week or so ago.

Do you really believe that?, you are smarter then that. Talk to any player and ask him and see what he says about the events and whatever else, if he is honest you might be enlightened. Most are burnt out from being heisted by expenses mainly, the entries if the tourney is down the street are no big deal. It is the hotel, airfare, baggage and food expenses when you are eating out that make the weekend event or week event going into the 2-3 thousand dollar range with first place in most tournaments under $10,000 so its not a smart money decision. Like Corey posted on his Facebook that he needed to take 3rd place at Tunica in an event just to break even.
lol i wasnt so bad when me and my .45 got you out of the pool room at the us open after you and frost got into it and 10 of them was waiting for you and the cops were on the way..your about 4 yrs late on your allegations..what a piece
Someone needs to do a "what the pro's said today on Facebook" thread.
Else I'm gonna have to go and "friend" a whole bunch of these guys....Sheesh.
Silly internets

Sticky? Or sub forum? :grin-square:
So since its been brought up, and apparently no one is going to take my fantastic idea and run with it, who are the most vocal pro's on Facebook?
Since I now have a project....
Apparently Frost and Duell are must reads, and I already see Dechaine.
Suggestions?
Basically, the summary of the colloquy I have read by a few folks is that the expenses are brutal for pool players to attend pool tournaments today in 2013. With travel, hotel, food, entry fees, et cetera, the ones who are currently in Vegas are comfortable where they are at and don't really want to incur any expenditures going elsewhere when they can be paid by BB to stay put.
There was one school of thought expressed that American promoters are making all the money and the players must come in first, second, or third to break even.
Though the above-referenced is my paraphrasing, please note it is not a word-for-word or verbatim.
Thanks for the summary.
Since I have obviously jumped into full de-rail mode (apologies to the OP), my question still stands. Apparently Facebook is where its at now to learn anything about what the pro's think. Who are the must-reads on Facebook?
Perhaps this topic deserves its own thread
Shannon is with Atlanta. Forget the name of the team, though. He's with Johnny Archer and Shannon Daulton.
Thanks for the summary.

In order to attempt to get this back on track after I went on tilt and derailed it:No apology necessary. Happens all the time around here. My post may have been premature anyway. Maybe I'll ask again in another week or so (unless this one is still alive).
In response to your question, Follow or Friend whomever you have a connection with regarding pros. You can search their names and see who's posting what.
Scott Frost is an ardent defender of Bonus Ball on his FB (edgy)
Corey Duel lets you know how he's doing in tourneys, lets people know when his BB team is playing, etc.
All the players have their own style, so investigate who you like, and follow who you prefer.

Before I start I want to make it clear I do not know the specifics of the Tunica deal with Harrahs. The post below is general information.
The way a lot of big events work is that there are milestones an event has to meet with the hotel. These can include room nights sold to event participants, a food and beverage number that has to be met and things like that. Often it takes casino/hotels several weeks or even months to count all of the beans and let the event holder know exactly what the end result was.
If the event gets room rebates then that number is added up and any charges to the event are deducted. These charges can be everything from pipe and drape rental to labor for electrical rigging for lights or even bottled water distributed at the event. Most of it comes down to the original contract and what is included in it. Everything over and above what is in that contract gets charged. If the promoter gets room rebates, met all the milestones and has a balance remaining after the charges are deducted then usually a few months after the event (I have seen up to six months later) they will get a check from the hotel. If the event didnt go well then they will receive a bill.
Every event is different. In my experience the only constant is that nothing happens quickly and things ALWAYS change at one point or another. Also in my experience most hotels are a nightmare to deal with as the right hand never knows what the left is doing. All that means is I would bet no one is sure yet exactly how the thing did overall . It obviously wasn't a total disaster and it sounds like the amateur events did ok so that may balace lower turnout in the open events.
Hotels only care about one thing: bodies. They dont care if they play open events or amateur ones. They just care that they pay for rooms, eat, drink and ideally gamble. After all those numbers get crunched only then will someone know if it was good or bad. To me the only question is will the event happen again? If it does I think it can be classified a success. If not then thats just how it goes sometimes.
It is a brutally tough racket.
