Many great matches from the past couple of weeks from Steinway! Thanks to Inside Pool for all of the great coverage!

Yeah, and did you see all the promised uploads from the 2013 World 14.1 tournament? You know, the tourney that took place two events prior to the Steinway Classic and the Ginky Memorial did? The tourney with actual astute commentators calling the play rather than some name-dropping egotist who could care less about the score of the match he's commentating on, never mind the only other match being played in the room.

Well, neither did I, because there ain't none.

If it ain't short-rack rotation Alvin apparently has zero interest in uploading it to YouTube. And since Alvin is God of the IP live stream, historic world record runs like Darren's 200 and out don't get archived for posterity. Frickin' shame it is. JR is doing pool a disservice by letting that moron off his tether.

The matches from the Worlds 14.1 Tournament are being turned into Dvd's.

When I did some of the commentary for the matches that I did, I Made sure that I had at least made it clear that this is what was going to happen.

I imagine it will take a few months to get the DVDs ready for sale, so please keep an eye out for a new post when they are ready.

That is what they did last year as well.

Thanks
Steve

The raw video was turned over to Dragon Promotions, and then from what I understand they are going to Ira Lee then his team is going to start DVD production.

Well, my apologies to IP, Steve. :embarrassed2:

I watched it all but the last day, which I had to miss due to prior commitments. You'd think I would have caught your comments and been aware of the situation, but they slipped by me somehow. Anyway, glad to hear that they will not be lost. I'll buy all of the games except the ones where the commentator was conducting a full-fledged interview with another player instead of commentating the actual match at hand. I won't mention that commentator's name (again), but really?

Couldn't agree more strongly................keep Alvin AWAY FROM THE MIKE!!!

I recall hearing it mentioned multiple times that they could not upload the matches for 6 months due to DP making DVDs of it.

I'm just glad we could watch it for free so regardless of commentating, I am grateful. Although props to Steve, he was great.

I'm not entirely sure how you feel about Alvin. I think if maybe you could just stop beating around the bush and speak freely we might be able to clear it up?!?

I found him annoying at first but he seems to be improving gradually, and he does read the forum
and see the comments.

I'm looking forward to the straight pool but wish they didn't go the DVD route. All that extra time
and expense to have a plastic coaster. They should take a page from the TAR playbook
and make it downloadable on vimeo. The fans get it faster and it might actually be more profitable
even after vimeo's cut.

I know that this is an old thread but can someone tell me what type of case Stevie Moore was using at the steinway classic when he played shane, you can see it when Stevie breaks his cues down at the end of the match.
