Not much left on this one that's "sneaky".....but a neat bar cue conversion.

Btw, purported to be a Kers when he was getting started in CA. It's been refinished and a new bumper.

Putting together this set was my summer project and it is now complete:

Here is Relkkit's new Schmelke Set. The Puke Grey one is Knarly Rosewood and the other is Twisty Cocobolo.

The Puke Grey one I got off the shelf when I visited Schmelke earlier this summer on vacation and the Twisty Cocobolo I ordered a couple of weeks ago (and just received today)
when I visited the shop for the second time and hunted out
a stock blank and had them build it to my specs. So no weight bolt in the Twisty Cocobolo-just a nice piece of woody from tip to tail.

Both weigh out at 19 oz's and both have balance points of 18" (my preferrred balance point). Both have 12.75 mm shafts with Triangle tips (my preference also).

Now tell me that you can't get quality build American cues from tip to tail for under $200. Both these together cost less than $235.

you really got a great deal, that is a great price for the beauty of the woods in these 2 sneakies.

Got this from Martin(jazznpool) more than 8 years ago.
A Valley sneaky pete convert by Ned Morris, refinished by Linds.
Currently using it as my play cue on trips outside the country.

Here are a few to look at. The ebony cue was converted from an old brunswick that was lord knows how old. The ivory joint and hoppe ring are original to the cue and the pin was removed from the shaft and installed in the butt but it is the original pin. The cork wrap was replaced. The titlist is a Gilbert conversion as is the ebony cue. The plain sneaky is a cue that I made from two very old brunswick red label one piece cues. I got the butt from one and the shaft from another I applied a satin finish because I thought it looked good on the very old wood. Just want to take this opportunity to say that Andy and Vicki do great work and are wonderful friends.

since no one else has posted photos of a sneaky pete i thought i would. real sneaky petes do not have, joint rings, inlays, fancy bumpers, wraps. they were made to fool someone into thinking you were playing with a bar cue. the cues i see pictured are just simple 4 prong cues with a few upgrades. i do not know what to call them, but they are not sneaky petes.

Agreed....

But Chuck it is tough to BUY one.

I think cuemakers have a hard time making sneakies...they always want to add to it ...a little.

(I just bought one)

can you say scruggs?

in the guitar world i think they call this "road-worn", which is a euphemism for "beat to sh*t, but really cool"

so far the doc fry is my favorite, but the gilberts that were posted are also really cool!

Real sneaky by Chuck Starkey. Mine is on the left. :):):)

I lost a bunch of pictures on my pc of some I have had over the years but will post some if I can dig them up. Just to name a few... Howards, Scruggs x 6 or 8, Predators, Schick, Fry, Olivier, Josey, Patrick, Meuccis, McDermott C1s, Dayton, BCM, Bender, Morris, Harris, Madison Bobs, Carter, Sickles, Woodworth, Huebler, Joss, Martinez, McDaniel, Mudder, DP, Phillippi, Prather, South East, Staceys and im sure im forgetting some...

Here's my BCM/Barenbrugge collaboration. Dave's unique taper and shorty ferrule with Bryan's amazing finish on wood that Dave had carried around for thirty years combined with beautiful, long even points make this sneaky an awesome player and a real looker (in person, pardon my pics...).
