On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

It'd be tough for you to ever ask for disability or sue the others in the accident as much as you are on here talking about lessons and loading and unloading all your stuff, plus traveling.

You for one know some of the setbacks I have had in the last 4 years.

This latest car accident has made it really hard to play. Concussion and whiplash.

The whiplash part is the worst right now. can't turn my head very well and need to ice up allot.

I think I can think again at least I hit the right keys on the keyboard now or most of them.

I think I will still be trying to get to that higher level again until I'm 80 years old. But for now I'm not even close to 80 so look out.

I'll see you when I get up that way and maybe we can hit some balls like old times.

He plays like Chris did when Chris was 18-19. Edit- Maybe 17.

Huh. I remember Chris' game about 10 years ago and it didn't impress me as it does now.

Could have just been one of those days though and that tournament. We all have them!

I think that is the point.

Yeah, but 15 years ago, Gene's did!

Oh we'll. We all get old and priorities in life change. We'll never know unless we get a "way back machine". We can only speculate.

We know what's true now.

In 1999 I quit playing because I was too sick to even get there...

Then I had a stroke. That was in 2008 Nov. In 2009 Jan I got diagnosed with Diabetes.

I could go back to work and chase the money that I might not even get to spend or I could teach what I knew was the most important thing pool players could ever learn.

I call it Perfect Aim.

Then I had shoulder surgery on my right dislocated busted up right shoulder.

After that i had a motorhome fall on me. Broke ribs and punctured lung that still hurt today.

Then I got rear ended about 6 months ago and couldn't even remember my middle name for a couple of weeks.

I've had a few setbacks with injuries in the last 4 years but here I still am. Trying to help players and even trying to play players like Chris Bartram even though i'm really not ready.

25 years ago many players wouldn't even think of playing me. Now I'm trying to heal up and cure my diabetes by losing another 15 pounds. I run out of energy and somedays I can't even play.

This is a story of a player that beat allot of players and bet it up in the 70's 80's and some of the 90's.

This is a story of me trying to get back there with blood and sweat.

Not with drugs like many pool players today but getting healthy enough to get it done natural.

Somedays like today I am almost unbeatable and eveyone else looks helpless.

I played in a $40 9 ball tourny and came through it unbeaten. One match went hill hill with a couple of bad rolls but the rest were like stealing if I was gambling.

Can i play anyone for money after the tourny. NO.

I don't know how much energy i have left and when my energy reserves will be totally gone. How can you gamble like that. It's called diabetes. Not an excuse but a reality. it's a terrible disease that most people know little about and are very ignorant to it's severity.

There were about 6 real strong players in this tourny here today but none of them would ask me to play for sure. But if they knew when the energy would run out they would be stealing.

I'm hoping that by losing this 15 lbs like the doc told me I can get the energy needed to play at my higher level all the time. This is my goal and I am very determined.

Today I played like i did 25 years ago.

It feels good.

Look out if I get there again.

The money will fly again. I will bet more and more and more........

I already have a few backers with deep pockets calling me once a week.

I tell them I'm not ready.

They appreciate my honesty.

And this is one pool player that can say he never dumped anyone..............

Congrats on your win at the Brickyard Gene. I was hoping to see you tonight but I got caught up with family we went out and had a great night, there will be time for pool in the future. Glad to hear you were in stroke for a while. I know there are detractors on this forum but I like hearing about your journeys.

I promise you that my game saw an improvement from the Perfect Aim lesson you gave me and it was worth the nearly 2 hour drive one way that I drove from Indy to Louisville to get that lesson.

I would not worry about rating your game against other players on this forum if I were you, I do not think there is any money in it as it takes a lot of energy that you could be focusing on your self, healing up and getting right. I would totally ignore all of that and focus totally on the work you are doing as I know it has a lot of value.

Thanks

Dana in Indy

How about Gene, at age 60, plays the Hopkins challenge ~100 rounds and records it here on AZ for posterity?

Then when Chris turns 60, he can play it and then compare his age 60 score with Gene's at age 60.

'course no one would be around who cared, but that would even up the physical differences.

I forgot Gene had had a stroke. Hell, that right there should be worth 4 balls/games forever. Damn, man, you got stamina, if nothing else!

Why would you put him at my level?
This is old he is not close and never was

Have you ever taught anyone how to play or make a ball Chris. Gene has taught a lot of people how to play primarily how to make balls better. He has a system called Perfect Aim and he shares it for free on phone calls and in mini lessons with just about everyone he can. If people like it they can engage him for a full one on one lesson. He leaves a trail of improved pool pool players everywhere he goes. So one thing Gene can say is he is leaving the pool world better than he finds it while grinding out the day to day of living on the road spreading pool knowledge like Johnny Appleseed did with apples.

It is all good we know Chris that you feel you are the superior player and you recently backed it up on the stream. You did it without an aiming system. You play very well myself I think the difference was more than the tight table you execute all facets of the game at a high level. There is more to pool than aiming we all know that, I hope you share some of your knowledge and skills with others not that you need to teach but it is obvious you have a lot of knowledge and skill, Good luck to you and all your endeavors.

I also wish Gene the best with his continued travels and teaching of Perfect Aim. I don't think Gene will say "uncle" so back to the bickering amongst yourselves.

Those Who Can’t Teach

how he really plays

gene now plays like he did twenty years ago, he just cant keep it up for as long. gene was a top short stop when playing his best. he was and is capable of winning any tourny match. he has won some big bartable tournys. he never played as good as chris. he was arguably the best player the best player in WI but I can think of a few that played as good. I'm from WI and have seen all the players over the last 20 years and gambled with all of them. I like gene, I just think his view of how he use to play is scewed.

And then drop a motor home on him so it's fair. And I ***** about my bad back, and that is my only ailment, as I don't go near motor homes.....and my back is not even that bad,,,I could not imagine playing with what gene has to carry around, and still jump in the box with a bonafide killer....

Yes I have showed people how to play pool . I get pms on here about once a week and always answer back .
The diff is I don't always tell people on here every time I do something for someone

And I have never said gene is not doing good for pool
I just said he plays no where close to my speed which is a fact

1 man and no aiming system

We're still in Indy but not for long.......

Looks like we will be heading towards the US Open in Virginia.

Rhea was looking at tournaments in North Carolina and it looks like we might go over there. If so the US Open will happen for me.

Got 3 weeks to get ready and hopefully lose about 5 more lbs for sure. I should get feeling pretty good at about 183. That is the goal.

I found a good chiro here in Indy and he got my neck so I can turn it at least. That hasn't happened for about 4 months. I see him tomorrow at 4:00 PM.

Need to get a tooth pulled also. Rhea has one that broke off and is in pretty bad shape. needs to go.

2 weeks ago I had a bed bug at the other motel bite me right by a mole on my back. it got infected and itches like crazy. The Chiro looked at them a few days ago and said I need to get them both checked out for melanoma. That's all i need.

So tomorrow will be a busy day.

Kind of a take care of ourselves day.

The good news is there are no more bad bugs. How sad some of these motels like the last one are trying to take care of the problem themselves and not getting it done.

The new motel is fine.

Then tomorrow night I will be at John Waynes doing free mini lessons for the league players. Should be a fun night.

One man a van and the road..............
