You fired in the 1 ball using right hand spin, caromed off the 4 and spun 3 rails (avoiding all the blocking balls) to get shape on the 2. It's a hanger! :)

Is there a reason why you can't shoot the one in the corner and draw back for the two?

I already asked him that, he said it would clip the 4. (although, if the angle isn't to bad you could clip the 4 and still get back up table for the 2)
 
I like the cross bank option, or hitting the 1 ball with a crisp follow stroke and just let it follow forward and back down, past the inside of the 6 toward the 7 ball, shooting the 2 in the opposite corner pocket. Would just depend on the angle.

Scott this shot isnt straight in so follow wont get you there.
 
One in the corner with inside/inside-follow, CB goes 2-3 rails above the 3b, 2b (semi-tough cut) into the corner away from the 7b.

I've hit shots like this one, in one form or another, many times. With a firm stroke and high left, you will reverse off the long rail and short rail and come straight back down the table. The advantage is staying away from the traffic and keeping the ball on the same side of the table.

Johnny Archer is a master with this shot. Instead of using running english and spinning three rails, he reverses when he doubles the corners. I don't know what you did, but I've used Johnny's method and it's worked just fine for me.
