Barry Hearn doing his best to assure an American victory

Stay tuned for his bullshit announcement. Barry Hearn has proven to be a man to be considered as a joke. How can anyone take this man and his events seriously after this?

Can I guess? Thorsten wasn't chosen for the Euro team?

If this is the case .....

Obviously, Hohmann belongs. Still, despite the attempt to make it look like the teams are being chosen one player at a time, the teams were chosen months ago and before Thorsten's recent run of incomparable brilliance.

Same thing happened in the World Cup of Pool. Even though Thorsten won the World 9-ball Championship before the onset of the scotch doubles event, Team Germany, consisting of Ralf Souquet and Dominic Jentsch, was selected well before Thorsten's streak of excellence.

Truth is that any five of these fifteen players would make for a strong Team Europe.

Darren Appleton
Niels Feijen
Mika Immonen
Karl Boyes
Thorsten Hohmann
Nick Vandenberg
Chris Melling
Darryl Peach
Ralf Souquet
Oliver Ortmann
Albin Ouschan
Nick Ekonomopolous
Fabio Petroni
David Alcaide
Huidji See

Team America needs to bring its "A" game to win the Mosconi Cup. I hope that's exactly what happens, but the suggestion that Matchroom is stacking the deck against Team Europe doesn't seem to hold water.

They already have Neils, Darren, and Ralf confirmed for Team Europe.
It doesn't look like they're trying to make things easy for the Americans.

If that's true, I don't think it should matter. Regardless of his recent accomplishments, I think Hohmann would be one of the easiest choices for Team Europe.

How has Thorsten done in Europe this year? Forgive my ignorance but don't they try to base their choices somewhat on the Eurotour and accomplishments in Europe?

You got a lot of nerve. How dare you!:angry::angry:

If it wasn't for Barry Hearn, pool around the world would really suck.

I thank the good Lord for Barry Hearn and Matchroom Sport.

You have proven to be a man considered to be a joke by this thread. I don't know how any one can take you seriously after this.

If anybody knows Barry Hearn, I would respectfully request that next year, he change the format of the Mosconi Cup to be Team Europe vs. Team Asia.

The United States with its American supporters is not worthy of playing in the Mosconi Cup anymore. It's a wrap.

It would be a much better show with Team Europe and Team Asia from here on in.

Thanks for the memories, Barry Hearn. Without you, the global high-caliber events would be nonexistent. Try Team Asia next year. You will be glad you did. Less headache, less criticism, and you will win the appreciation of many more supporters by moving in this direction.

With the Hatch announcement I will have to agree that Europe VS Asia would make for a more even match up..... I see Archer, Shane and Earl as coin flips against likely 4 of the 5 Euro players.(assuming Earl as our 5th).. With Rodney and Hatch being coin flips with the weakest of the 5..... And that's assuming they don't throw Mika and Thorsten in as the last 2 Euros... Then I think Hatch and Morris are underdogs in all of the matches.....

Pool is a strange game tho and maybe Rodney and Dennis shine.... I just know that's not the way the betting lines will likely lean....

As far as the OP's rant over BH... Well I just assumed he stopped off for drinks after work... Lots of them...... Because he is definitely drunk or clueless....

Unfortunately, Team Asia would be close to unbeatable

Dennis Orcullo, Francisco Bustamante, Alex Pagulayan, Lee Van Corteza, Ko Pin Yi, JL Chang, Wu Jiaqing, Chin Shun Yang, etc.

Yowser!

Even a Filipino team of Orcullo, Bustamante, Pagulayan, Van Cortexa and Kiamco might be way too much for Europe.

Well, it is now time to move in that direction. Then Americans can start rooting for their favorite Asian players.

An American victory is in the best interests of pool, and therefore Barry. Anyone thinking there is no careful thought going into this is a fool.

If the rumours of Steve Davis or someone like him are true, it's pure charity.

Only problem is Asian countries all hate each other so I'm not sure a team Asia would work.

Just curious, but what was the last identity so I can filter my reading glasses?

Naaahhhhh, that wouldn't be cool :p I kinda like him, much of the times.

A little hint, there are at least two going concurrently, that I'm aware of. Probably more. Must get confusing.
