I love watching Hohman because I watch pool to learn correct patterns etc. However I can see how joe public might get bored watching him. He is typically an emotionless robot programmed to play perfect pool.

Karl, on the other hand is a sexy beast and the camera loves him.

Karl is an amazing pool player and I believe the world championship Thorsten won, Karl got 3rd or so, right?

The best pool on the net might well be but that is to hardened fans of the game. Watching pool for hours, even at a high standard gets boring after a while and most non pool playing sports fans would rather shave their eye balls than watch a TAR match, in fact, most pool players would too.Out of the gazzillion pool players world wide and it promoted on the biggest American website, how many viewers does it get?

In the overall picture of things... None..

My mother is not going to watch TAR whereas she'll get wrapped up in the excitement of the Mosconi Cup.

The Mosconi cup is an excellent event. Timed perfectly over the Christmas period. Perfect distances. Game slowed down to ensure not too many break and runs.. Rack to rack nobody has any real idea what is going to happen.

Brilliant...

Whilst running a business "for the good of the sport" is laudible it is not sustainable. Matchroom have been involved in pool for over 20 years and probably made millions and millions. Good luck to them because while they were doing that they gave exposure to people that are now famous as a result (relatively admitedly) and paid out millions in salary and prize money.

Well done Matchroom and thank you for all you have done!

I find it funny that you say Thorsten won't play on TAR because it's "gambling" because the winner gets more than the loser BUT he will play on the Mosconi cup... hmmmm. Man you're full of nonsense pal.

Larry Chibbs could be the Captain and Nathan could be Co Captain and take care of the streaming.

Not only, they take into consideration world events as well. I don't know if Thorsten played too much in Europe last year.
Last year there was an extra qualification stage between a few that were close in the end, my friend Nickos won his place on the European MC team through that.
Niels was a bit behind in points but he was chosen, always a good choice..
