Anyone here know how someone can get Sponsorship for tournament expenses? I'm playing in the US Am's in November![]()
Cleary has perfected the sponsor solicitation skill-set.
I'm in for 1.07%, unless I draw you.

Good luck Flea, I trust you'll go deep if given the opportunity to play.
The Flea had a great run in the us.open, i think 2 years ago!
He was knocking so dam good players out!
Here's my 2 pennies...
Play the tournament. By that I mean commit to playing this event yourself by entering and paying the entry fee upfront. Looking for a sponsor may become easier if interested parties can see that you already have; 1 the game and 2 (most important) the commitment. Then it becomes a case of meeting you half way, and like posts above clearly read you may just unearth an unexpected source that seeks no return of investment
Entry & Hotel is paid for. Travel and food is the only expenses left. I will let others speak about my ability (Game) Commitment can be found in the thread: 2010 Us Open Journey:thumbup:

I saw you play at that open. I will pitch in. Set up a PayPal account to collect the funds.

To be honest there is nothing in it for the sponsor. What you need is someone or several people who have an interest beyond some bottom line is it a good investment. My wife gives money to things that have zero return but are her interests. I just got back from an animal shelter where we have chosen a dog we think is worth getting a home for. We have sponsored all the expenses and today we found someone to adopt the dog. You can't save them all, and many really are not worth it, but you can do something.
Back to you, you may even have a family member who will help you. Maybe a fan from the pool room. Maybe the pool room it's self would want to help out. This has to be sort of a think outside of the box thing. You may have a resource you don't even know of. When you say tournament expenses, you are referring to more then just the entry fee I assume. It is also your responsibility to keep costs at a minimum. This is not a vacation on someone else's dime. You need to be responsible about what you may be offered.
Just out of curiosity, what do you think the total costs will be? What is the prize fund in the tournament? Is there any possibility of breaking even if you finished in say the top 6 or 8?
So whats your goal? 1000$? 2k?
Are you serious? The tournament last two days. If you can't eat for two days on $100, you've got serious problems. The OP lives in AL, and the tournament is in FL. Gas is another $100 tops.
