Proposed TAR - TOI VS NO AIMING SYSTEM

....we don't throw anything away, it's all digital. We have more than one camera running at the Champion's Way Training Facility.

er, OK. Show us the video between rack one and rack two of the 29 balls then. Any camera will do.

Did someone say this feat was easy? I will give anyone in the world 100 tries to do what I did......I've said this many, many times now - I was shooting the video to run 15 balls in a row, and I forgot to spot one......I thought it was done, then when Mary told me I didn't spot the ball I had to do it again and I figured it would take me several more attempts.....but it didn't, I did it on the first try. That means I ran 29 in a row. Arguing it is silly, I KNOW I did it and thinking/hoping I didn't is delusional....or ignorant, whichever word you want to use. ;)

If any of you want to believe I didn't do it in two consecutive attempts then fine, but I'll bet my life I did......will you? If someone wants to "get squirrely" and bet high enough I can provide proof. 'The Game is the Teacher'

Not sure but there's probably more then a 100 players in the world better then you but you did it on your first go,and your willing to bet they can't.(this sounds fishy )
Wonder what the odds are of you doing on the first try and them getting a hundred.

Wow, do you want to see his birth certificate as well?

How about you show us video of you running even one rack of balls into one pocket. With all your straight pool prowess and 20 years of one pocket study and experience playing professionals (can we see that list again please) it should be no problem to establish yourself on the same skill level as CJ.

And the offer still stands for us to play high stakes one pocket if you're not scared to play. Your "interested parties" haven't sent me any emails to work out the time and place. Maybe they need my email address again jb@jbideas.com - sending pictures of money won't get it.

But since we both know it's not going to happen for the number one reason that you are scared to death of losing to me I'd be happy to see you do the following on video and I will bet against it.

1. Run ONE rack of one hole all 15 balls in one pocket.
2. Run ONE rack of rotation.
3. Make ten banks in a row with a curtain covering the rails.
4. Make 15 shots in a row in either corner with a curtain in the way.

You have unlimited tries. I will bet $100 that in the next 12 months you will do none of these things.

The best you and your fellow nits can do is to dog CJ about the space between two one pocket runouts. And yes it's INCREDIBLY NITTY to go on about this when CJ has already stated that the two racks were consecutive.

I guess you nits have NEVER heard of takes. In film you do a take and then SOMETIMES you take a break and do another take. If someone almost nails it in one take and then comes back and hour later and nails it on the next take then those two takes are CONSECUTIVE - one follows the other one.

If Shane Van Boening runs five racks - takes a 30 minute break and comes back to run five more then it's still a ten pack.

So really all you and a couple other nits are doing is calling CJ and Mary liars on a public forum.

Let me make that clear since you are too much of a coward to say it directly, you are calling CJ Wiliey a LIAR and calling his girlfriend Mary Avina a LIAR simply because you have nothing else to attack them with.

So Wilson, how about you ban the folks who are doing this defaming, starting with Lou Figueroa? Or maybe it's totally cool with you that people like this run around calling pros who contribute a ton to this forum liars for no reason other than pure malice.

(Don't worry Lou, if I ask for someone to be banned and held accountable for their slander then it's pretty much guaranteed that they won't even be warned. - only when they go so far over the line that the punishment is inescapable does it happen. In your case where you continually defame in a softer way you have no chance of ever being banned)

don't tell that to the nits

That' ll be 5000....everything is about money nowadays. :D

That's correct, don't tell that to the nits, they will think you're trying to intimidate them.

And notice I didn't say the "love of money"....for those that have "eyes that can see" ;)

Put $5000. up and I'll show you....we don't throw anything away, it's all digital. We have more than one camera running at the Champion's Way Training Facility. I give lessons several times a week. Email me in the next 2 hours and I'll give you a 3 hour lesson for $100.....just email me at thegameistheteacher@gmail.com .....this offer expires at 7 PM on Wednesday NOV 16

We are putting together streaming video production at the new pool room that will blow away anything that's ever been seen in the "pool world". TV IS THE FUTURE, but we will support the TV Broadcasts with Streaming Video.

And NO !!! We will not call our "streaming video table" 'the TV Table'... that's just crazy.

While were on the subject of gambling,I would like to bet you never gave Slim 15 to 5 and beat him out of 30,000

They're really calling Mary and me liars, now that's not very nice at all ........ maybe they're just "slow witted" like a turtle. ;)

The odds are several thousand to one to do what I did.....as I've said many times it was not what I intended to do, it just happened.....kinda like a miracle.....or even better, it's like someone running 11 racks the FIRST DAY for a MILLION DOLLARS.

I'm doing a documentary on something that happened to me that had odds in the neighborhood of 6.8 Million to 1 - Everyone doubted that happened too, but after you see the documentary (will by out this December we're filming tonight) EVERYONE WILL BELIEVE.......in Miracles.....Earl Strickland and I believe in Miracles....do you?

CJ -

On your documentary on Earl Strickland, is it going to be only on the 11 Racks on the Million that wasn't really a million?

Or you are you going to have a section about the event when Professional pool needed him the most, and he went all "Earl" at Romines and quit after a couple racks while playing Corey? This event basically but the final nail in the coffin of men's professional pool?

I watch Fox News, and always enjoy the stories being "fair and balanced".

It really was a million, it was called "The Million Dollar Challenge" for a reason. ;)

So you are saying Earl got the million? It had been reported that it was a "settled" amount less than $1MM.

Ken

This is essentially correct, but not entirely so. The stipulation in the insurance policy called for video taping after someone had run five racks. I racked the balls for the last five racks. Earl ran eleven total, with three nine balls on the break during the first six racks! Yes, he had figured out how to break on that table.

He did not make one nine ball when I was racking, but he had it rolling toward the pocket every time. He made an incredible combination to win the tenth game (and the money). The matches were super long (CJ's idea), races to fifteen. Earl ended up winning 15-2. There is much more to this story. Scott is right. The insurance company finally made a settlement!

I will have the whole thing in my book. Promise!

Apparently Jay Halfert doesn't have a clue either...

That's why we're making the documentary so the world will know "the rest of the story"....Earl believed he could do it and he did it.....no other human in the history of mankind could have done that incredible feat......except for Earl Strickland and ....... I can't say it. ;) LoL

Not quite...here's how it went. This was the FIRST day of the FIRST tournament (of a series of 10 that were proposed by the PCA/Professional Cuesports Association). The PCA was an alternative organization to Don Mackey's stranglehold on the PBTA. It was started by a half dozen big name players, that were dissatisfied with Mackey. CJ Wiley was the principal organizer, and had convinced a sports marketing group to provide a million dollar annuity to any player that ran 10 racks. The original wording of the document stated that this provision would be in place (and PAID OFF, in the event that it happened) for all 10 events. Part of the reason they went along with the idea, is that the players involved all agreed that it was almost a 'supernatural' achievement, and wasn't likely to happen much, if at all...but it was a GIANT carrot on a string!

When Earl, while playing Nick Mannino at CJ's room in Dallas, started his run, it was no big deal...and there were many other matches being played on the other tables. When Earl got to the 5th rack, somebody got a camera, and started recording...just because he seemed like he was a house afire (not because they "had to have it on video)! LOL With each successive rack, more players quit their matches and came over to watch Earl. By the 8th rack, nobody else was playing, and EVERYBODY was rooting for Earl to win the big dough. He finished the 10th rack for the $$$ win, and then ran out the last rack to win the match 11-0!

Now the problem here was that Earl had made it look so easy that the sports guys balked at paying...making up excuses. It was to be paid in 20 annual installments of $50k each year. CJ paid the first year out of his pocket, to keep Earl from coming unglued, when he thought he was going to get 'stiffed'. CJ then got a lawyer and the "negotiations" began, between him and the sports marketing group. The long and short of it was that after a year, the sports guys settled for about $600K. Half went to Earl, and the other half to the lawyers. CJ got nothing, except his original $50 back, that he had given Earl a year earlier. In the ensuing year, after Earl's win, CJ had to keep completely mum about what was going on, and the pool world speculated the worst (as usual), and the PCA lasted only one more event...and that was without the milliion dollar hook. It was really too bad, because the concept of the PCA was solid, and they didn't require players to only play with them (like Mackey had done with the PBTA). So there ya go... Earl still got the biggest payday in pool, before the IPT came along (and this was in 1995).

This report from Scott Lee tells another story....

This report from Scott Lee tells another story....

That is riddled with mistakes from the number of PCA players to winning the match 11-0 (it was a race to 15, it's hard to win 11/0 LoL).....even the part about the PCA at the end, it went more than one more event.....we had on with Jay Helfert in LA, one with Dan Tull and one with Gary Lutman in St. Louis as well as ALL the men's ESPN EVENTS were sanctioned by the PCA...Joe Rogan did the commentary back before he ever filmed "FEAR FACTOR"......we had every event scheduled to be televised, but we did run into some challenges because of Earl doing it the first event.

The documentary will tell what happened "behind the scenes".....I was billed over $300,000 on legal fees ON TOP of the $50,000 I gave him myself on TV after the tournament.

Please, if you have questions about the event wait for the documentary, I can't answer every question on here, and as far as Jay having "not having a clue," that's ludicrous.

Jay will be featured in the documentary as well. Jay and I occasionally have differences of opinions as all men do, but he knows I have a great deal of respect for him and what he's accomplished in his life....I believe it's mutual.

'The Jay is the Teacher'

No I think you made it clear....

Earl got $1MM and there wasn't a lessor settlement.

So if I make one ball a day for a year, that counts as a 365 ball run. COOL! As far as him contributing a ton on here. That would be a ton of what, exactly??

That's exactly right. if you set up a straight pool break and you then shoot one ball a day without missing from that initial break shot then you have run 365 consecutive balls.

A ton of knowledge on how to play, a ton of road stories, stories about running a pool room stories about running a nightclub, stories about promoting professional events, stories about pressure from the professional perspective, behind the scenes stories about pro pool and the mosconi cup and a lot more.

A lot of us see all that and are grateful for it. You have latched on to some small tiny aspect that you think CJ is dead wrong about and have turned it into an obsession to discredit him any way possible.

The more I think about it the more I think CJ is mentally stronger than just about every other pro out there for how he fades the heat some of you bring here. I understand why the pros in general want NOTHING to do with this forum.

Kelly Fisher had it right long ago when she told me that the more familiar fans are with a pro the less respect they have. I disagreed with her and thought that pool offered a great opportunity to build a personal fan base precisely because of easier access to the pros.

But it turns out that she was mostly right. While some fans maintain a respectful communication with pros even when they disagree with them some don't even try to have a veneer of civility.

Unfortunately while the majority of fans are cool about it the absurdly vocal and defamatory minority tend to ruin it for the rest of us.
